PART 3: PROGRESS
In late 2008 I got a spurt out of nowhere and was practically at BSL, even though at times I had over 4 months of ng.
You have clinched my decision to color my hair. Whenever I get back to BSL, I'm going to use your first set of pics when you first started highlightening, and get my hair highlighted that exact color. You have such BEAUTIFUL hair!![]()
beautiful hair...this is the kind of hair we pray for ...thanks for giving us hope![]()
Your hair is QUALITY!!!!It's beautiful. I bet you were very happy when the spurt arrived! It gets discouraging when it doesn't seem to grow, but when it does - watch out! Lookin great!
Congrats!! I am soo happy you made bsl, I knew you would soon!!! Hey girl still going strong with my blonde highlights, still using butter treat and olive oil, and not using as much heat!!! My hair is fine!!! Thanks for sharing your journey with us!!!! Yay, see you at mbl girl... I'll race you there!!!! Take care...![]()
The protective styles worked wonders! You seem to be tall with a long torso (like me). You'd be mbl on a shorter person! It'll be here before you know it. I'll be checking out your progress - keep us posted
How did I miss this?
You and your hair are very beautiful!!!!!!!!!
I am on the rode to MBL myself. Happy growing!
Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat is AWESOME! I recommend it to people alot.![]()

Congrats on reaching BSL again! Your hair is beautiful and I love the highlights.

Finally, I have a little time to post my update before summer school starts. This is long so I'll break it up into 2 - 3 posts.
Anyway, first a little history. I have been APL or beyond BSL most of my life. Here are pics of my college graduation and a little after (note, these are pictures of a picture)....

Then, 2 years before I found this board (in 2005) I did a "BC". I cut my beyond BSL hair to shoulder length. I was going through a life crisis and my hair was the first casualty.erplexed I wasn't really into taking pictures then so all I have a pic of is my first cut. I had a ballet recital and needed enough hair for a bun so my first BC was still shoulder length. Here was my inspiration pic by Kelly Rowland:

After my recital I slowly started chopping more and more away until I had some really deep, funky choppy layers, some an inch or so long. No pictures of my shortest cut.But here's the first BC:

I had fun with cutting for over a year, and then in early 2006 I decided to start growing it out. Here I am back at SL (on the right). My twin was graduating from law school and she has natural, MBL hair.
