My family and I just started going to a new church, and of course, many people don't know our names yet. Well, I wear spiral sets ALOT, especially during those latter weeks post texlax; they blend my textures so well. Anyway, I heard a couple of ladies at church refer to me as "the lady with all the curls." :ohwell:

Even at my job, where I have worked for years, every once in a while, someone will call me "Curly." I think it's kinda cute, so I just  and KIM.

So, do you wear a certain hairdo, so much, that people identify you with it/or comment on how much you wear it?

Sis and I are referred to as the "bun queens". This name was given to us by my grandmother who ironically is infamous for her buns and big ol' hair bows. She always says "I know they see my big bow comin before they see me!" She crazy.

i used to be known for wearing my hair in a flip before i started wearing braids... and then after, that known as "the girl with the long braids". now i just blend with the crowd. which i sort of like for now. :)

I'm known as the girl with the long pretty hair. My dh loves when people make references like that...lol!

Thanks for your responses, ladies!

Sometimes, when people make those "references," I get a little self-conscious; like they're giving me a subtle message that it's time to change things up. But, I really like my styles, so I'm gonna stick with them. :yep:

This is a sweet thread. I am known to most people by my twist outs. Everyone says, "That style becomes you" to me everytime I wear it. I guess it is because no one in my area really has hair like me. It is unique. :yep:

You know, everytime I wear a twistout, I get a compliment/comment, like "look at all that hair" or "that style looks good on you." I really should wear them more often...thanks for reminding me.

People in my job I guess are used to seeing me with a ponytailed braidout because whenever I straighten my hair they act all shocked....oh my god i didnt even recognize you, your hair got so long. when did you have this done (as if 2 weeks ago my hair wasn't just straight......whatever)

In college i was just the one with the really long hair

Otherwise nobody knows me by my hair.

Me and my somalian co-worker rock our natural hair ALL the time!
I'm known as the one with the afro pony and she's the one with the brown curls :)

When I straightened my hair, everyone was shocked and said how amazing i looked. I kinda felt bad. I mean, is that much of a drastic change? Does my 'fro look that outta place?! damn..... :lachen:

Everybody calls me "Rudy huxtable" or says "You got that Rudy Huxtable hair" especially when I wear my frizzy wash n go's

At one point my hair was changing so much that one of my supervisors even made a joke about it and everybody got! Now I have it pulled back so much that anything else gets lots of attention. And often a white person will ask me "Did you get your hair cut?"

Im known for wearing this style and this is the only style that I do for my clients.
