How are you detangling?

What's your reggie?

What products are you using?

How are you wearing your hair?

Sorry fo sooo many ?'s but this transition thing is serious for me...

I'm only neck length and am only 5 months into this but hope it helps somewhat:

How are you detangling?
Each morning (or as needed) I put moisturizing product on my fingers and massage it into my roots and strands as I gently finger comb. This also detangles my hair, because I don't comb it except on wash days.

What's your reggie?
Every two weeks: I prepoo with EVOO, Shampoo, deep condition (plastic cap and dryer no less than 30 min.), then use a leave-in, spray on a heat protectant, air dry 80%, then blow dry, press natural roots only then flat iron relaxed strands... well, my stylist does all this. If I do it myself I just use the flat iron. In between visits I don't use heat. If I need curls I use Caruso steam rollers or pin curl at night with bobby pins. I sleep with a silk bonnet, scarf or pillowcase.

What products are you using?
Because I'm still mostly relaxed, I'm using up my current products just fine. (Joico Moisture Recovery, 'poo, con' and deep con'. Also Aubrey's GPB protein conditioner when I need it. Giovanni Direct Leave-in, Ashea's Shea Butter pomade or coconut oil for daily moisture, Jilbere shower comb, Revlon Tourmaline Ionic blow dryer, Sedu flat iron.

How are you wearing your hair?
Mostly in spirals to match the natural part

How are you detangling? Depending on how I style my hair, I use different products, but the same brush! I use Aveda's detangling brush & I detangle while my hair is sopping in products after my DC.

What's your reggie? After one year, I still don't have a regimen, I do what my hair tells me to do & we get along just fine!! Especially with two different textures, it's hard doing for one and not the other... I do have my staple products though. Aussie Moist for co-washes; Shescentit Avocado Conditioner after my co-wash (sometimes used as a DC); Rollersets (still trying products, but loving ORS Foaming Wrap Lotion with Aveda Smooth infusion, and carol daughter's honey mimosa!!); Flat iron (Aveda brilliance spray with phytolisse anti-frizz serum...just tried joico's split end mender, the verdict is still out on that one...; for leave-in I just purchased redken's butter treat (I havent used it yet)...for clarifying, Aveda shampoo (not sure of the name, but it cleans without leaving my hair dry... i also use the damage remedy in between the weeks i don't clarify!)...

What products are you using? I'm mad because I did all that typing then i scroll down and see this question!! LOL

How are you wearing your hair? Rollersets, updos, flat irons, pony tails with banana clips.

How are you detangling? I use diva smooth once a month which makes my life so much easier
What's your reggie? I wash once a week and keep my hair in a style that will last for the whole week. (twists, braids, buns) Typically I'm trying to stay with the same hairstyle for atleast a month.I apply amla oil in my hair and let it sit for a minimum of an hour. Shampoo and conditioner. I let the conditioner sit for a little while before I actually detangle. Then I squeeze dry apply more conditioner and apply my shea butter, castor oil and t-tree oil mixture like grease. Then I style. air dry. Daily I'll moisterize by rinsing my hair in the shower and rubbing sound conditioner or my mixture on my hair.
What products are you using?
Diva smooth once a month
amla oil
shea butter, t-tree oil and caster oil
cheap suave conditioner and shampoo
How are you wearing your hair?
buns, twists, braids with beads
Sorry fo sooo many ?'s but this transition thing is serious for me...
I'm 8 months into my transition and i can decide if I will big chop after 2 years of a transition or when I reach mid back. I'm at bra strap now.

All i can say is make conditioner your BFF.

i was clueless when i first started transitioning - i wore a bun everyday and looked a HAM - OMG...styling was not my strength. Gets much easier after the first year or so....

i'll let the experts chime in.. BUMP
