Hi AAG  here's my reggie in a nutshell:

  • Cowash every other day in the summer.

I can't use the cheapies like V05, they dry out my hair. I use moderately priced cons that I find on sale, like Redken All Soft. Then I leave in a full strength conditioner and seal with oil. I wait until after Christmas and get the cpnditioners for up to 75% off. Last Christmas I got a full size poo and con set with a trial size of leave in for only $10. :)
  • Wet bun or protective style. Pretty much all last year I wet bunned. It was quick, easy, and effective. This year I got bored with the wet bun and am experimenting with other PS's.
  • Stretch my relaxer. It's essential since I'm double processed. In 2008 I relaxed 4 times and colored 2 or 3. In 2009, I will only relax 3 times and color 3 times. I learned the hard way, too many chemicals will cause my hair to snap right off. :couchfire:
  • Get trims at each touch up. Again, a necessity for my double processed hair.
  • Very low heat. Probably in 2008 I used heat 10 or so times, only when I got my touch up and more towards the end of the year when I was stretching like crazy. Now that I am going longer, up to 5 months at a time, after month 3 I will blow out or flat iron my roots only when the tangles get thick. :afro:
  • Tie it up at night. I use either a satin cap or a satiny scarf every night, no exceptions. :sleep2:
  • I'm not very regular with my DCing, but when I remember to do them, especially with heat, I get great results.
HTH!

Your hair is so so pretty. I dyed my hightlights brown yesterday and seeing yours is making me regret my decision.

Beautiful hair. I can't wait until my hair is that long. I can't V05 or the other cheapie conditioners either. They dry my hair too.

Great progress and beautiful hair! Do you have layers cut into your hair or does it naturally grow in a few different lengths?

I have layers. :yep: I thought about growing them out but I remember when my hair was blunt and it had no style to it. :ohwell:

I'm having the same issue with mine...I love the clean look of blunt hair on others, but I think I might need some layers to give mine some thickness and movement! I think I'll use your hair for inspiration :yep:

WOWOWOWOWOOW!!!!!!!!! Your hair looka like da bomb (said like Martin Lawrence)!!!!!! Seriously, how do you get your hair that straight? I am a 4F(luffy) and my hair doesn't do straight as well as yours!!!! You and your twin are gorgeous!

TY! My undergrad is in Psych and I am currently working on my MBA. :)[/quote]

Now that's what I'm talkin 'bout! Way ta go girl!

Your hair is so pretty Butterfly08, I really love the color. Which products did you use to color your hair back when it was SL?

I have Aveda highlights. :) Best color product I have ever used. :yep:

However, she just left the Aveda salon and I will be following her, so she won't have access to the color line any more. :ohwell: I will give it a shot and see if the new color product does well with my hair. I really love my stylist. :)
