If i wear a scarf to the gym? Okay this may seem like the craziest question in the world, but I live in Miami and yall should see how females go to the gym. Matching from head to toe, some of them have a face full of FRESH make up on. I bet if they could they would wear stilletos:rolleyes:. So would I look like the ugly chick if i rocked my satin scarf? I'm trying to protect the wrap.:drunk:

you would look normal.

Where I'm from its like people don't even care how they look. Its quite sad. I don't think that they have to go as far as makeup and such, but at least look freaking presentable.

I think that it is practical to wear a scarf.

That is something that you will have to decide. Those chics that go to the gym with a full face of makeup have decided that they they want to wear a full face of makeup.

I look good at the gym but that is just how I am. I look good where ever I go. Do you!! If you need to wear a scarf then do so. "Hood" is subjective....

Problem solved,
*you are trying to take care of your hair*
and who cares what the other
ppl may think.

I understand your question completely. I have been thinking the same thing. I want to go in the morning, but I do not want to take my hair down just to sweat it out.

I think you should wear your hair however you want. The important think is that you have decided to take charge of your own health and fitness. You should do that in any way that you are comfortable. However, feeling like you look good does make a difference in your workout. So, like another person said, put on some nice workout gear and match your scarf to it.

(Shoot you think they look silly, so who cares? LOL!)

As long as you're comfortable and feel good then don't worry yourself with other people's perceptions. One of my favorite quotes is by Dr. Seuss (*smile*) but I must admit that he said it well: "....those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

ETA: and if you don't feel comfortable in it or feel good about yourself wearing one then don't do it. You have to be accountable to you first missy! :-)

I think that you shouldn't worry about other people when you are trying to do good for you.

ETA: especially if it's strangers at the gym

I wear a scarf to the gym all the time. I have several so I just chose one that kind of matches my clothes and I wear it like a headband. I'm not there to impress anyone so if they have a problem with my scarves that's their problem.

I don't think u would look hood but quick question- what is the scarf going to do? I find that when I work out with a scarf on my hair gets even more jacked cause it makes me even hotter which causes more sweat which means more wet hair. I work out with my hair in pincurls, or a pony tucked in either with one big roller or a bobby pin so that my scalp can breathe and my hair can be more dry...

Personally, I wouldn't care what other people think. They're not the ones who are going to re-do your hair if it gets messed up.

You are going to work out, not catch a man like those hookas in full make-up and matching gear. What do you care if you look hood? I say tie the hair down and get your sweat on!!

I wear mine all the time... matter of fact so do a lot of others. I am there to get my workout on not for a fashion show.

I see the white chicks wear bandanas all the time to absorb the sweat. You'll be fine. Most of the black women I've seen in the gym have their hair wrapped, pincurled or have some kind of scarf on.

you should see me when i'm in the gym. i really don't care how i look since i'm there to work out, not look cute. the ladies who do try so hard to look cute in a gym just look silly to me.

wear your scarf so that your hair can look good when it matters.

If you are concerned with the way you may look, you can get like a cute and trendy scarf. That way it's a "win-win" situation.

I agree with amazing. Get some cute silk/satin scarves. I think that scarves are a great accessory to wear anywhere and can be very versatile.

Psh. I don't care if people think I look hood or not, you BEST believe I wear my scarf to the gym on Saturday nights.

I throw some DC in my hair, put a shower cap on, put a satin bonnet over that, and wrap a scarf around the whole thing. Instant steam treatment!

wow..you take it to the next level!lol

I wouldn't do it but I don't think it's hood at all (well maybe depending upon how you wear it :giggle:). I would just do a bun or a french roll with curly ends out because I agree with a previous poster, my head would sweat out like crazy under a scarf. I used to work out at my college gym and TRUST me when I say those ladies wear their scarves and don't care! :giggle:

I think the gym is an okay place to wear a scarf. Just make sure it's more of a plain scarf and not one with gold and rhinestones or something.

Why don't you wear your scarf like a headband and put your hair in a high ponytail? That way your edges will stay down and you can wrap your hair when you get home. That way your hair still stays hooked up but you also look good.

Scarves are fine. I wouldn't care what anyone else would think. When I was going to the gym, I wasn't going for anyone else but myself.

When I go to the gym, I have my hair poorly wrapped with no scarf on and the huge GOODY pins exposed. I sleep with my gym clothes on underneath my pajamas. All I do is put on my sports bra, Jordans and sweatshirt on. Mind you, I do not take a shower before I leave and don't even brush my teeth. You shouldn't be talking to me at 6 in the AM. :wallbash: You're talking about looking hood, when I look like ish!!! :lachen:You're there to work out. Um, you don't have to be as extreme as me. I am sure you don't look hood! :yep:

I wouldn't give a good damn lol. How is rocking a scarf looking hood tho? Do you!

But there is nothing wrong with going to the gym and wanting to look cute at the same time. I might not wear a full face of makeup (I never do that) but I work out harder when I feel sexy. It's not about impressing anyone, that's just my swag. I'm in FL too ironically :giggle:

Wear what you want to wear.....why care what those idiots think?

TBH, where i'm from (London) the people at the gym are more likely to be checking out if you've got the latest/most expensive Adidas/Nike trainers (sneakers) on  - than whether you're wearing a scarf or not.
