Finally, I have a little time to post my update before summer school starts. This is long so I'll break it up into 2 - 3 posts.

Anyway, first a little history. I have been APL or beyond BSL most of my life. Here are pics of my college graduation and a little after (note, these are pictures of a picture :giggle:)....

Then, 2 years before I found this board (in 2005) I did a "BC". I cut my beyond BSL hair to shoulder length. I was going through a life crisis and my hair was the first casualty. :perplexed I wasn't really into taking pictures then so all I have a pic of is my first cut. I had a ballet recital and needed enough hair for a bun so my first BC was still shoulder length. Here was my inspiration pic by Kelly Rowland:

After my recital I slowly started chopping more and more away until I had some really deep, funky choppy layers, some an inch or so long. No pictures of my shortest cut. But here's the first BC:

I had fun with cutting for over a year, and then in early 2006 I decided to start growing it out. Here I am back at SL (on the right). My twin was graduating from law school and she has natural, MBL hair. :)

Next chapter in my hairstory - FINDING LHCF.......

PART 2:

Alright, in October 2007 I found LHCF. :drunk: Here I am, not yet APL. :ohwell:

Here are some 2008 pics, both straight and curly. I was getting discouraged because I didn't see much progress at first , but in late 2008 I seemed to have a bit of a spurt. First, the dark months :look: - here I am in Aug 2008 with seemingly no progress. :wallbash:

Stay tuned for the final chapter - progress, and finally, BSL in 2009!

PART 3: PROGRESS

In late 2008 I got a spurt out of nowhere and was practically at BSL, even though at times I had over 4 months of ng.

AND THEN, I FINALLY made BSL IN 2009!!! It took a loooong time but I am very happy. Next stop - MBL! Here are some shots from my last touch up in April on various days.

And here are a couple pony shots. I can't wait until I have a BSL pony that's pulled up high! :cowgirl:

One more thing (slowly stepping on soapbox). :look: I have bleached highlights and I am relaxed. I am on a mission to prove that double processed hair, if well taken care of, can grow to MBL or even waist. So watch out for me in a couple years. :wink3: :cowgirl:

Wow! Such beautiful hair! Congrats to your sister on getting her law degree, and you too! I know OT, but What did you get your degree in?

Beautiful hair and I love your highlights. I admire them every time I see your posts.

Your hair is STUNNING! I love the highlights . BTW can I have that pink flower dress you have on in one of your photos. It looks vintage. I :love4: vintage :yep:

This is a nice story about patience and perservance. Your hair is a nice length and I know by the end of the year. You probably will be inching toward WL or even be it.

How did you guess? That dress is over 30 years old. :giggle: Sorry I can't give it to ya, it has sentimental value. My mom wore it while pregnant with me and my sis. :)

Beautiful hair! Its great to see that double processed hair can maintain length and thickness so well.

Beautiful hair. I guess it must run in the family because your sister and DD(from a previous post of yours) have beautiful hair.

What is your regimen?

Your double process hair is gorgeous! I got lowlights in Dec 2008 struggling to keep it moisturize. It feels like a brillo pad. Please Please release your regimen. Freaking Gorgeous!
