Now keep in mind that I have my own thoughts on this, and I'll keep them to myself until I hear your feedback. First, my hair just naturally grows (or breaks) in layers--always has been. My longest layer is about APL if I pull it down and streeeetch it. Can you really call it a milestone met, if not all of your hair rests without coaxing at the point of success?

Here's the picture I took this morning. Tell me what you think. Please excuse the excess fat--I'm about five months pregnant with number four.

I can't see your armpits in the second pic but in the first pic it looks APL to me

congrats!!

Thanks, but in truth, I am not claiming APL just yet. In my mind, if I have to pull, prod and stretch my few little hairs to make it so I still have about an inch or so to go. And then there's the subject of my sides, which only reach about CBL. I think I would be more comfortable claiming APL when that area catches up.

I like to wait until I'm about an inch or so past a milestone to claim it, just to be sure

If you're not comfortable claiming it, wait a few months. You'll get there! :)

I'm the same way!

I have a little tail that is right at Apl..but it's not really APL to me. It has to be significant to me and it has to be arms down in the pic...not arms up!:spinning::spinning:

So hopefully I'll be claimimg Apl this relaxer (May) but at least by July.

:grin::grin::grin:

I say APL is when you can take the longest layer of your hair and tuck in the "boob crease" of your armpit without having to tilt your head.

I think you're almost there. The majority of your hair should reach APL by the end of the year

Thanks for the comments. I think that by the time I'm scheduled to give birth--Sept. 25--I should be firmly there. Hopefully sooner.

I would say you're there already. Lol there is always controversy surrounding SL to APL. I think it's the hardest milestone to pass. You will be full APL soon. All the best

I claim when most of the hair is resting comfortably at whatever point so that there is no mistaking that it's the length I say it is. But then again this approach won't work for naturals. Anyway your hair is growing nicely, keep doing wat you are doing!

Your hair is a lovely colour Christelyn, do you use a rinse?

Thanks; yes I just started using a rinse but I'm afraid it might be all rinsed out by now with all the washing. :lachen: I have a few rogue gray hairs that I'm trying to cover and tried a new rinse by (who?) that I got from Sally's beauty supply that has a brown/wine color undertone.

I didn't claim APL until I could take a pic, arms down, hair not being pulled taut and still cross that line. (I won't be full APL for a few months, but it's good enough for me to claim.) I think you are *almost* there.
