Look at the bottom of the screen and you'll see his name. I have a "Are you Nikos' Cousin" tee on in my avi.
 
Okay, I HAVE to say this.

The mans name is Nikos. Not Niko. Thus, it should be 'I am Nikos' Cousin' not 'I am Niko's Cousin'

Please, ya'll, get the poor mans name right. :lachen:

I believe that Nikos' Cousin serves as a shibboleth for board members to identify themselves in a public setting.

For example:

Say you're at Disneyworld and you notice a woman of color with hip length hair that is thick and healthy and looks like it was braided out. This is (sadly) an uncommon sight outside of the boards. You may wonder if it is in fact a member of LHCF. What do you do?

You could:

a. Embarass yourself by going up and asking, "Are you on LHCF?" If she's not she's going to think that you're on M-E-T-H. Result: Awkward situation.

b. Embarass her because maybe she's with people that she doesn't feel comfortable knowing her hair secrets. Result: Awkward situation

c. Actually be successful.

Problem is that you are much more likely to encounter situation A, and then you end up looking crazy.

This is where asking, "Are you Nikos' Cousin" comes in.

Same Disneyworld scenario.

You ask: "Are you Nikos' Cousin?"

Possible outcome:

a. She says, "No." You say, "Sorry, you look like a relative of someone I know." Result: no harm done.

b. She says, "Yes." You say, "What's your name?" She replies with her screen name (if she's comfortable in the situation she's in) or she replies with a yes and let's you know that she is. Result: meet someone from LHCF

c. She says, "Yes." You begin talking to her and relize that he really does have a cousin named Nikos so you say, "I had you confused with someone else." Result: Slightly awkward, but not extremely likely to happen.

i thought the ASK NIKOS was like ask Alice things that people do - im too used to people having internet aliases :ohwell:

my apologies - please forgive my ignorance, i never met anyone with a name like that before (can you tell i live in the South :lachen:)

Noooooo! :lol: That info I posted is at the bottom of any page on the board. Nikos maintains the site. He used to be kinda active for a minute, chit chatting with the ladies and whatnot.
