I really feel like cutting it short and starting over......

I'm SL but I feel my ends starting to look thin. I don't know what to do :wallbash:

Aw, don't start all over. Try doing a light dusting, that little 1/4 inch can make a big difference :yep:

Cutting off an inch or so in a blunt cut would do the trick too. Blunt ends always look good :)

I'm very anti-cutting, but if your ends are depressing you and making you unhappy, you gotta fix it. You'll feel so much better :hug3:

Could it be hair anorexia? We are our own worst critics. We think we look horrible when other people think we look just fine

who knows.... could be .... last Thursday 2 people tole me how good my hair looked.....

but since saturday I've been feeling down about my hair

Does it look the same as in your siggy? Cause if it does, it looks good to me!

If people are telling you your hair looks good, it looks good! :D

I haven't taken pics recently but it is slightly shorter than my siggy

have you used megatek? does it really thicken the hair?

don't cut it!!! your hair looks good in your siggy. i agree with tiffers. hair anorexia. it happens to us all.

ITA with Tiffers.

Stop fretting and be patient. Hair doesn't grow evenly in a blunt shape, so give yourself a chance to reach the APL milestone, then trim 1/4-1/2 inch. In the meantime, wear protective styles or roller set for a curly look.

Does your hair look the way it looks in your siggy?

If it does, sit your butt down somewhere before I have to come over there. There isn't a thing wrong with your hair!!!

Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnno if you think your hair is thin or messed up now(which its totally not you look amazing) megatek will worsten it please dont put megatek in your beautiful hair

yea I was wondering about that..... so does that mean that it may just be at a particular phase now?

why did I read that "no" like when it's being yelled in a movie :lachen:
I don't have megatek but I read on here how some members hair got thicker as a result

Awww.......Val.....You're doing great! I mean seriously. I was all jelly when you posted an update some time ago. You're in the same stage I'm in............. "Fed Up!" When you get to that stage, you should just hide it before you do something detrimental.

I can't speak for you but my hair is the best when I leave it alone. You have lovely hair!

patience please :-) We all go through a stage like that. Since being on this boards I have reached APL twice and cut twice b/c I didn't like my ends. Now my ends are crazy thick. You just might need to grow and trim a little more. It will take time but you will get there.

thanks ladies.....

since posting this thread I went ahead and applied some olive oil hair mayo to DC. I applied it like I would do a relaxer and I totally saturated my hair with it. I placed a shower cap over it and I'm keeping it in for about and hr.

I got this hair thickening lotion from Sally's.... it's from their GVP line and it's supposed to be like the Paul Mitchell's hair thickening lotion. Not sure if it works since I've never used it.

Hi Val,

Do you think your ends are thinning because of the weaves you wear? I know people who get sew-ins constantly and find that their ends are always thin.

Also, I was in the same predicament as you about 6 weeks ago. I had a stupid ugly V shape ---it looked more like a tail than anything --- plus my ends were thinning. Yea my hair was longer than it had ever been, but I hated how it looked and it was alllllllways tangled. So I chopped an inch and six weeks later, my hair is back to where it was before length wise, except this time my ends are blunt and healthy. Plus no more tangles!

Since you've already done an inch chop, maybe you should just baby your ends for a while and do some serious deep conditoning, moisturizing, and protective styling.

thanks for the advice..... I'm thinking of doing more rollersets. I flat iron 2 times within the last 3 weeks.

I've only worn a sew-in 3 times since I relaxed........ 4 weeks each......I don't know if that would cause that. I took the last one out in Feb.

I feel so much better about my hair now (well last 2 days)

I used the thickening lotion and my hair feels really thicker

That's wierd, but I feel the same way as you do. I am going to cut mine off and I believe by the end of the year, I will be back to neck length for sure:yep:. I am texlaxing now and having a hard time with the bone straight hair looking a lot thinner than my new growth area. I am actually loving my new growth right now.

Your hair looks pretty good in your siggy to me so you need to just let it do its thing. Do not cut anymore of your hair:naughty:. You said you already trimmed some. If it is depressing you so much to look at it , then just braid or weave it up and you'll have a nice surprise in a few weeks when you undo:yep:.

I'm graduating in about 3 weeks so I won't braid as yet.... I probably will during the summer.

But I'm enjoying it right now......for now. I think that GVC Thickening Lotion is a keeper

I was SL for what felt like forever and I always felt this way! :perplexed I used to cut my ends all the time. This went on for a long time until I finally told myself enough was enough. I concentrated on finding the right products for my hair's needs and stuck with them and stopped cutting. My hair started thriving! :yep: I continuously concentrate on my ends to keep them in good shape and it's all good!!

''

co-signing. Originally, I had planned on cutting 1'' but decided against it. Today I went to the Regis salon for a light dusting of 1/4'' and wow what a difference.
