who want to wear their hair straight 100% of the time.
I have been natural for more than five years and have LOVED it. The beauty of it, the low-maintenance aspect of it, the way my hair has thrived and grown like it never has before, everything.
Well, almost everything...
my hair is currently MBL (some strands hitting WL
), and my fine hair cannot hold many of the styles that I was easily able to achieve when my hair was BSL and shorter. Now, my hair just falls. I tried to do a blowout yesterday and it was a joke. I am very frustrated with my hair and realize that a change is in order. I am considering two options:
1. Straightening my hair as regularly as I can while maintaining my hair's health.
2. A relaxer.
I work out regularly and sweat in my head, so I fear that regularly presses will not work, since I will be back at square one the second I workout.
I used to have a relaxer, and my hair was horribly thin and lifeless. I now know that it was overprocessed and severly abused. I believe that I now have a better understanding of healthy hair practices, and would not make the same mistakes I made years ago. However, I am not sure how my fine strands would react to chemicals. Is thin hair inevitable when one's hair is fine?
So advice is desparately needed, ladies. I want to hear from everyone...the naturals who straighten, the relaxed heads, everyone!
