Hey Joico users, I have a few questions for you...

I recently picked up this protein treatment and I`m somewhat confused on if its a light, medium or heavy protein treatment?

Also, how often do you use it? once a week, monthly etc.

I would also like to get your opinion on how it made your hair feel, did it make your hair thicker over time?

Thanks a milli:grin:

can i say i love this stuff?????? when i was relaxed i used it for five minutes in the shower once a week. i never had protein overload because i deep conditioned with a moisturizing conditioner after wards for no less than 25 minutes. my hair was so healthy. i like it better than aphogee 2 minute because i felt like the joico made my strands feel and look thicker. now that i have a twa i think i may use it for five minutes once a month or two. cause i still have 3 tubes lol.

Thanks Chebaby! I find that the ingredients are very good and probably way better than Aphogee 2 min. What moisturizing DC did you follow up with?

Where doyou get K-Pak from? Is it a thick cream?

I used it and I do feel like my hair feels thicker afterwards...I think it's like a medium protein. Seems stronger than the Aphogee 2 min to me.

Hey chick - you can get it from Trade Secret, Ulta, Beauty Brands - I use the K-Pak leave in reconstructor - it is an excellent product - I did not get the rinse out because I already have too many condishes that I need to use up...

Yes it is a thick cream - not watery

i usually followed with joico intense hydrator or redken all soft heavy cream. they are both great. sometimes i mixed with avocado oil.

I believe it's light. I've used up a whole bottle in a span of weeks with no ill side effects (no miracle breakage cure either, unfortunately). I would follow up with the Intense Hydrator, or the MR conditioner.

I have this and plan on using it this weekend. I'll let you know how it turns out for me.

I just bought this from Ulta bc my aphoghee 2 min isn't doing anything. I'll use it this weekend and hopefully get good results also.

I bought the moisture recovery to follow up with...should I use it after the k pak?

The reason why Im trying this out is because Aphogee never did much for my hair (still had a lot of breakage). Ive used it already (after a relaxer) and I must say that its been awesome! My hair was noticeably thicker and stronger from it. I guess I'll use it weekly or biweekly.

I too have used the K-Pak (when I needed to reconstruct) and I also used it as a step in my relaxer process prior to neutralizing.

When I used it on a typical wash-day, I followed up with the Intense Hydrator and the Moisture Recovery (all Joico).

YAY, so glad to see this thread. OP, I hope you don't mind if I piggy back on your post. I didn't want to start a new one about the same product :)

My question is are any of you using the 1 min daily one? I assume in this thread most of you are referring to the 5min one?

I used it yesterday and it was great. I combed my hair after flatironing and only about 2-3 strands of hair came out. That was a first :) I do my steps "backwards" though. I DCed BEFORE using this ...my hair prefers it that way.

Hi Faith, I'm using the 5 min one. I use it longer than 5mins though, more like 15mins. Which one do you use?

I used the 5min one for about 15 minutes...it's great stuff. I may try it with heat next time.
