I attempted to do my first braidout as a relaxed head. I tried to do as Sylver2 does and LAWWWD!:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

I look like Ben :eek::

Thank god I do not have to go anywhere!

Would you please tell me what you do to get those beautiful braid outs???!!

Thank you!

My best braidouts are when I make 7 or 8 cornrows (on lighty moisturized hair) going from the front to the back of my head then I roll the ends in pillow rollers.

I used Sylver2 as a guide as well, however, I can't cornrow at all....After co-washing (or washing) I add leave- in, do about 8 plats, put rollers on the end. If I have time I air dry if not I sit under the dryer. Afterwards i seal with an oil....you can see mine in my fotki under the album titled my first stretch...my first attempt wasn't that great until the 2nd day, I didn't allow them to dry all the way so that night I did the plats again and coiled them like bantu knots and they were great on the second day. My second and third attempt were much much better. HTH

Thank you Mrsrobertson,

I can't cornrow either, hence the ben-like results. Off to look at your fotki ...

I love braid outs!
I usually braid my hair in about 20 braids and put small perm rods on the ends. I do this on wet hair and use Fantasia IC hair gel. I sleep in the rollers and take everything down the next morning. I think you just need to get accustomed to doing them, find what works and looks best for you.

My hair has to be damp and I apply leave in ( potion #9). Then I section and braid in teh direction I want the hair to fall ( bang braid forwards, back of the head braid back, and teh sides braid down). Afterwards I set teh ends on satin rollers or perm rods.

 how did u do them? was your hair wet damp or dry? if wet did y wait until they were fully dry? what products did u use?
the first couple of times i did braidouts..thy turned out crazy..lol.
whenever i did them on dry hair it looked like ben.

:lachen: :lachen: Not Ben!! LOL. DO you put perm rods on the ends? Did you use your fingers to comb. I had trouble with them also, but now I'm better but I still can't wear them for more than two days, I sweat too much.

Girl, that pic of Ben loks like he's not too happy with his braid-out either!!!:ohwell:
I never have much luck with my braid-outs. I usually just pin my ends up (out of control) in the back, and just show the waves that are closer to the roots!!

I did my braid out with 20% damp hair. I applied my Nexxus Humectress as a leave-in and sealed with coconut oil. I put in 6 cornrows (what I call cornrows, I admit that that I am not a good braider). I then put my scarf on and went to sleep.

I got up this morning, took the braids loose, looked in the mirror and saw: Ben :nono:. Ugh.

I will try it again tonight with 8 cornrows.
