I've been busy and not posting so much, but I thought I would show you all my 5 months' progress pictures. Sorry that one is arms up, and the other is arms down:grin:. I'm pretty terrible at straightening my hair, so I think from now on I will leave length checks to hair professionals.

Not too far from APL if I keep the raggedy ends:nono:. Thanks all!

Congrats girl it has grown!

I actually think you might be closer to APL then the pic shows!

The very bottom of my hair is dead on APL if I stretch it, but I'd rather wait until I have more conclusive evidence :lachen:. Thank you all so much! This is the longest my hair has been since I was a kid and it's all thanks to the great information I've found on this site:bouncy:.

Thanks again everyone! Do you all think I should just trim my ends now and get it over with, or wait until I reach my goal (APL Curly)?

The first thing I said when I opened this was "WOW"!! That's some great progress in just a few short months. keep up the good work!

Thank you! It is a big adjustment from the last time I was relaxed and had hair breaking off every day and could never understand why :look:. Being texturized and on LHCF/BHM has definetly made my hair 100% better.

On the trimming ends question...I know people have multiple opinions on this, so please know I am not posting and thinking I know everything...

...but I kind of left my dd's waist length hair alone and her ends needed trimming. We have hard water over here and she needs more maintenance than she did in the US. After 8 months, I had to CUT her hair to above te bottom of her shoulderblades. It's somewhere between BSL and WL now. She lost about 3-4 or so inches even with protective styling, which is ALL I do on her hair. She never wears it loose and straight, I don't flat iron (actually, I did flat iron once, but once is not enough to do major damage and I used SMB on her hair as well.) and I never blow dry. Her ends were suffering, and the damage was just going up the shaft from the bottom. She had all kind of splits, bulges and other odd things going on up the shaft of her hair.

Anyway, her hair is looking good in twists now and I shea butter the ends every other day.

I say trim now to avoid a setback later. I only say this looking at your pics. I might have different advice for a different head of hair. I hope this is helpful. Your ends look just like my daughter's did.

Any other advice from others?

Blessings,
cj

Great progress...share your regi???? PLZZZZZ

My regimen is pretty simple (I've been slacking off some lately actually :perplexed).

DC 1x per week with ORS Replenishing Pack
Co-wash 1x per week with HE Hello Hydration or Tea Tree Oil Condish
ACV Rinse with every wash
Moisturize with Pantene Oil Cream Moisturizer
Seal with EVOO, or whatever is lying around!

I've been battling a lot of dryness lately and am still trying to figure thar out.

I decided to go ahead and trim. I took about 1 - 1.5 inches off my ends and I saw they were FULL of splits and abrasions, etc. Definetly not worth keeping. My ends don't feel my velcro so I think I got most of them out. It's funny, I didn't even feel traumatized like I thought I would, I was just like 'it's going back in a bun next week anyway, I won't even know how long it is!' Thanks for the advice!

That is some good progress!! You are getting close to the stripe!! You should wear that sweater whenever you take your progress pictures!!!

Thank you! Yea, that's what I decided after I took the first picture :lachen:. It's a built in APL-BSL-MBL marker and I can even wear it outside without people looking at me crazy!
