I think I used to have acne on my scalp... caused by the oils and build-up. This was back when I poo-ed only with non sls shampoos (CON red label) and COwash (Herbal Essences Hello Hydration and Suave). I finally decided enough with being afraid of SLS shampoos :look:, I now use Head and Shoulders Classic Clean. My hair AND scalp have never been healthier :yep:

I make a special point to keep my scalp clear of anything that could clog my follicles. I just shampooed with MillCreek Biotin shampoo and I'm sitting with the condish in my hair and on my scalp. I love things that stimulate my scalp. I can't go longer than 1 week without a shampoo (nonSLS) co-washing alone does not cut it for me scalp wise longer than 1 week. Scalp health is the main reason I stay natural, being relaxed would be more convenient but in the long run, I know my scalp would suffer.

i've never really had scalp issues, except for the occasional chemical burn from relaxers. I checked healthy and other. other because my scalp still feels more tender than usual and the only explanation for it is the dominican blowout i got for my sister's wedding last month.

I checked other b/c for some reason my scalp is always very tender/sore in the middle of my head. In that area I just also recently noticed a scalp pimple...ugh..I don't know if it was due to a relaxer touch up or what though... :(

The middle of my head is always tender and no matter how much I wash it's always itchy. Can itchiness be an indicator of dry scalp? I have mad dandruff too.

My scalp is healthy......but when I started I was using head and shoulders, and my scalp was itching bad I don't know if it was head and shoulders or something else, but after I stopped using head and shoulders, my scalp stopped itching......

I con-wash everyday and I shampoo once a week really good. Every two weeks I use a clarifying shampoo with baking soda.

Well I have seborrhic dermatitis in my scalp and face. I control it by rinsing my hair daily and moisturizing. There's nothing else I can do about it as I was born with it and it's incurable. But I don't have any scalp conditions that I created.

If I'm not very good about rinsing ALL of the conditioner out of my scalp, I get an itchy scalp. I have to use shampoo at least once a week and cannot cowash only.

My scalp is perfectly healthy. I deep condition my hair quite often using both protein and moisturizing conditioners. I also use essential oils in some of my scalp massage combos including MN which works wonderfully at keeping my scalp nice and clean.

If I don't keep it under control, my scalp will get itchy and flaky (dandruff), but right now it is very healthy.

I....pre-poo w/ essential oils & conditioner (recently, PHGO, too). I use either KeraCare dry & itchy scalp shampoo or Jason Natural Biotin shampoo. I try to keep my scalp free of oils and product in general & only apply product to my scalp right before or right after a wash.

I must shampoo 1-2 times per week, at least. My scalp doesn't feel clean w/ co-washing, but I may give it another go this summer.

sulfur really helps:)

My scalp is healthy to my knowledge.

I wash 1-2 times a week and use a soft toothbrush to gently exfoliate build up on the scalp. I also try to use baking soda and ACV once a week in my wash regime.

2 yrs into my hair journey my scalp is mostly healthy. My issues (thin, dry, tight, ictchy, balding scalp) were probably from my 20+ years of chemical abuse. I have used an e/o oil blend I call the Hay Study Oils consistently to heal my scalp. I believe that this & my healthy hair practises continue to heal my scalp.

I keep my scalp moist & supple with oil therapy & by drinking loads of water. I suppose my exercise has something to do with it too...

I ticked healthy.. I only ever experience dryness in winter.. I just add an extra co wash and moisturise more to help combat that.

My scalp is super dry and very itchy as a result. Heck I start scratching my scalp right after i do my hair. I get random scalp pimples which turn to scabs when it pick them. I wonder what causes that pimple in the same exact area each time?

Where do I start? I actually discovered LHCF while looking for a remedy for my dry, itchy scalp. My scalp was so dry and itchy it always looked like I had dandruff even when my hair was freshly shampooed. After joining the board, I began to research and realized that everything I was doing was all wrong:

~Scratching up the dandruff
~Using shampoo's heavy in sulfates
~Not DCing
~Not rinsing all the product out
~Using water that was too hot
~Greasing my scalp with products heavy in mineral oil and petroleum
~Not adding any moisture in between washes
~Using oil as moisture therefore not moisturizing and sealing (didn't know there was a difference)

So, I finally figured out that I have a sensitivity to sulfates and cut out the use of shampoo containing sulfates. I started diluting my shampoo. I started addding rosemary (for its healing properties) and peppermint (for its disinfecting properties) essential oils to all of my poo and condish. I rinse my hair for at least 2-3 minutes using warm water instead of hot. I started DCing after every wash. I also moisturize and seal at least 3 times a week.

My dry scalp is about 90% better since last year this time. The difference is amazing.

I feel my scalp is very healthy; about 5 months ago I did have an issue I have never in my life had before (DANDRUFF) and boy my scalp itched. I knew that for me wasn't normal. I actually did use the MN and WAHLAH - no more itchy scalp. Whew!

I now use peppermint oil in my co-wash conditioner. I also use it on my scalp by itself ( I know they say your not suppose to). But my scalp tingles and says- thank you body.

My scalp is healthy... I used to have alot of product buildup but since I cut out gel, I don't have that problem anymore.

my scalp used to be dry and flaky! but i shampoo once a week using using my chagrin valley shampoo bars....eh even before i started using those i shampooed regularly and would oil my scalp in between, so i have those issues no more!

I've had dandruff for years, bad dandruff. I could wash my hair on a Saturday and have dandruff again by Monday. Strangely, now that I've stopped eating land animals, I'm noticing that my dandruff is almost non-existant. I need to keep tracking this though, it's an interesting development though.

I used to have horrible dandruff and smelly scalp and product buildup before i started my hair journey....but after a year of good healthy haircare....i only get occasional relaxer burns....but besides that i have a happy scalp...it loves water.

I use to have horribly dry, flaky scalp. After joining LCHF, I began co-washing mid-week and clarifying every Sunday. I also started oiling the scalp with an oil blend (tea tree oil, olive oil, and castor). Since I started this regimen my scalp has been healthy and dandruff free.
