I pulled this out on purpose just to share it with you all because I'm really having a dilemma. What do I do with it!?! I texlaxed the last 2 times I relaxed and now I'm experiencing some major breakage. I'm currently about 6 weeks post. I did the Liquid Keratin Treatment last week (review posted next) and that didn't slow my breakage at all.

Here are my thoughts:
I like my new growth and I'm very interested to see what my hair would be like fully natural BUT:
I don't want to BC.
I don't want to get braids (my edges break every time).
I want to keep wearing my hair straight.
I'd rather not relaxed.
My hair is thinning out due to the breakage.
Liquid Keratin doesn't last long enough and I can't justify BKT right now.
I'm thinking about trying Diva Smooth but I haven't seen enough testimonies yet.
I feel like the only thing I can do is keep relaxing until I reach my goal (BSL). And I mean straight relaxing no texlaxing which means I will have to do a corrective so now I'm scared of overprocessing.

I don't know what to do and today is wash day!!!

Look at the little coil on the end - BEAUTIFUL!!!

Are you deep conditioning too? With heat? Then you could roller set your hair, then flat iron it. Another thought is to do 2-strand twists and then wear a twist out.

Looks like you have wavy hair under there. Pretty.
 Denise, how can you tell she has wavy hair? She said she texlaxed and then did BKT. The coil at the end, if it's the part at the base of her hair ie new growth hair could be 4A or 4B or 4A/B. In other words, curly, not wavy. I think wavy hair looks straight when such a small section is viewed.

Perhaps OP you can get tips from Pinkskates. She wears her natural hair straight most of the time and it's healthy and growing nicely.

It's only wavy because I've been texlaxing but thanks anyway. Look more towards the right at the coil.

Maybe I'll try a twist out today. I had been DCing with Silk Elements but then my moisture/protein balance got out of sync and I've been fighting to get it back ever since. I hadn't rollers set in forever. Just hadn't had the time.

You are correct. My new growth is curly more than wavy but I didn't BKT. I used the Liquid Keratin Treatment sold at ULTA. It only lasts for about a month vs. BKT which is suppose to last a lot longer.

I was using the tension method which is great! but I think its becoming too much for my hair since I'm not fully natural yet. :wallbash:

Do you want to be a strait natural? It is possible because a lot of ladies here have done it. Research first to make sure it is what you want. From your post, it sounds like your hair could be over processed. If it is continually breaking, perhaps it is best to take a rest from adding any more chemicals to your hair for a while. Your fotki pics looked awesome. I did not see any damage. I'm learning how to straiten my natural hair by watching you tube videos and experimenting on my own hair. The best result I ever got was using a hot air brush to blow dry. It turned out pretty good. I hope you find the answer you're looking for.

An alternative
to braids may
be weaves or wigs..
that's a good way to give
your hair a hiatus.

:giggle: Goes to show you how much attention I pay to the Keratin Treatments. I didn't even know there were two or a difference. Thanks for the enlightenment.

Is there a way to use the tension method only for the newgrowth and then release the tension and use a comb over the 'laxed part as it really doesn't need to be stretched?
