I think I want a lacefront wig. I was looking at how gorgeous they are and since I am transitioning with the use of wigs I think I want to buy one. At first I thought they were just a tad bit too Hollywood but if you get one that suits you then I suppose you can achieve a natural natural look versus the yeah I was born with good hair and a EXTREMELY precise hairline look...lol! I have nothing agianst Tyra Banks but sometimes her hair just be whew! lol and I think to myself "All that money and some stylist had the nerve??" Anybody have any tips on shopping for one? Thanks!

My best tip: go read BHM's lacefront section. The ladies over there have dedicated years to critiquing vendors, adhesives and devising new techniques for applications. Also, keep an eye out for CVs (Chinese vendors) -- the prices will be much more reasonable than purchasing from an AV (American vendor). You can get the same wig for $200 that you would pay $500+ to buy. The AV may cut/style it for you, but I was able to go to Supercuts or Great Clips and get them layered for $14 - huge savings.

I would definitely suggested getting your head measurments correct plus finding the right glue or tape. I used to wear the synthetic lace wigs (still do sometimes) I wouldn't use glue for those, figured out a way of wearing them without glue. If you are buying one for the first time, I would also suggest you purchase a synthetic lace front first. Test out the waters to see if you will even like doing all the maintance envolved with lace wigs....for me...the human hair lace wigs were too much of a bother and I think I used the wrong glue or I just didn't know how to put them on properly. My edges were messed up. Just do your research before make that type of investment. This is the best advice I can give.

yeah I really think I want one. I aint willing to spend too much money though- what I mean is too much for a piece of tore up hair that doesn't fit or do me justice. lol. Thanks! I'm hoping that if I dish out $300 that I am truly satisfied. I can probably get one of my homegirls that do hair to cut it for me, if I ask sweetly.

Going back on older posts to see if someone has hit me up and about that lacefront-NO GO! After seeing some women who buy the lower quality ones I decided it may not be for me. I guess it's the many women wearing them all wrong that terrifies me. Lol! Besides my budget is too tiny for a really nice one with all those cool features. I will wear wigs with bangs for now.

This exactly i learned all i know about them there!!!!!!!!!!!!! some of the vets you would not believe it is a wig from the different textures to the application ps NEVER put adhesives on your edges it should be before or you can google tootsie's method (no glue or tape application) ps if not a lace you can also do a full weave with a lace closure all sewn in

I have bought some decent lace (front) wigs for 150 to 200 i still have them now my pics are in my album on bhm if i remember i will update mt album on this site with my lace wigs its the full lace wigs that tend to get pricey because you can part them anywhere
