I use the Sally's Generic version of this and I love it! It doesn't have a lot of slip but it's very moisturizing. But there are mixed reviews about the product. It's either hit or miss...

When I was natural, I dug it, but when it ran out I found that both NTM hair mask and Aura Cherry Bark were cheaper comparable substitutes.

I like both the Matrix Biolage Conditioner and the Matrix Ultra Balm. The quality of these products have exceeded my expectations. I will continue to use these for a long time...

I love Aura Cherry Bark!!! I used the conditioning balm and it's very mosturizing, like someone stated before not much slip but it is a good mosturizing conditioner. It's a little to expensive to use as a cowash, I use it as my deep conditioner.

So are you guys using them for dc or co wash or both? I bought the GVP i'm just not sure if i'm suppose to use it for dc or co washing...lol

I use it for Deep Conditioning. I can't really imagine myself using it for a cowash because of its lack of slip. I only use slippery conditioners for cowashes.

Very timely thread. I just started using the Matrix conditioning balm and it's great for my hair. I can not believe it took me so LONG to try this conditioner. It provides my hair with amazing slip and moisture. I also mix it the Relaxed and Natural Pantene Breakage defense mask with great results.

This conditioner helped me to get through my dry stage in the first few months of being natural. I love this conditioner. I used it to co-wash and to deep condition. On my deep condition day I mixed it with a little coconut milk. Loooooooved it!!

I use Aussie Moist and Herbal Essences HH for cowashes. I searched the GVP conditioning balm on Naturallycurly.com and there are some members who use it as a cowash and for a few people it does provide slip. It only provides slip for me after I've DCed with heat.

I've been using the GVP version myself. I usually pour some olive oil on it to help it distribute. It's so thick that it pulls my hair otherwise. It's aiight.
