Okay...

So today during pjism..I went to Sally's and picked up a few things.

I knew that I wanted to do my Amla and Brahmi paste...and I saw it! A mini-whisk..like the kind you would use for eggs or cakes...
It was on the hair color aisle..I suppose stylists use it to mix hair color.

So when I got home I tried it.. I poured my Amla and Brahmi powder...

Then I began to whisk it dry..and then added my warm water...

and whisked some more.

Let me tell you that paste was sooooooooooo smooth..not one lump or bump or anything...it was like melted butter! :yep::yep:

When I got ready to wash it ran out of my hair so easily...:drunk::drunk:

No grit...no rock hard pieces stuck to my hair...:nono::nono:

It rinsed out really easy and well...:grin:

I know a lot of ladies are skeptical of making a paste because of the grit..but if you use this you shouldn't have any problems!!:grin:

I suppose you could use a regular whisk..but I never tried that before...

It only costs $1.49 at Sally's (discount card) or $2.19 (regular price).

Here are some pics of my paste and the mini-whisk!

thanks for the tip. I have one in the kitchen lol i'm going to start using that. usually I beat it with a plastic fork or use my hands to mix

Can't see the pics, but I am glad that worked out. I was thinking about going back to making pastes instead of doing tea rinses. For some reason, the paste just seems a lot easier.

I never did a tea rinsde for some reason... I wanted to actually put the powder from the box directly in my hair...a quirk of mine..I guess!!

Thank you for posting this. I have a whisk in there that I never use. I plan on doing a paste next week for the first time and will use this method.

I have converted over from making tea rinses to using the paste. Thanks for the tip. Off to Sally's in the morning. When using the paste, I do a light scalp massage. I love Ayurveda!!!!!!

Me too! I love it!!!

I'm 9 weeks post and that Amla/Brahmi paste made my hair oh so soft and lightly loosened how tight my NG was!!

I think I need to try this with hibiscus powder.

It clumps up like pancake mix when I add it to my paste.

Ah, never thought to whisk it. I'm a paste girl myself, I'll try that next time. Thanks! :)

I'm loving the pastes....I just did a Brahmi, Feneugreek and Hisbiscus paste and rollerset and under the dryer. Can't wait to see how it came out.

I was a little nervous about the Hisbiscus though...that stuff is hot pink and I kept thinking my hair was going to come out pink...LOL..it didn't though..thank the Lord!

The whisk sounds really good. Thanks!

Thanks for mentioning the whisk. Its the easiest! I use my electric whsk mixer when I mix my henna. It always turns out really smooth like pudding.

Thanks for the info. I have a small whisk just for mixing hair stuff but could benefit from another one.

I felt that way about Hibiscus too! :spinning:

How did your mixture turn out. Sounds lovely.

I did the exact combo earlier this week and thought the same thing.

The whisk is a great idea. I have some henna sitting and need to add some condish, I'll whisk in!
