I'm really frustrated with what to do with my hair at this point. I'm still fairly new to the board and still trying to find the right regimen for my hair. In the meantime it just sort of sits on my head.:wallbash:

So, for the veterans...did you find it easier in the beginning of your journey to start with a freshly styled head of hair (i'm thinking a nice bob) or just a trim to even everything out? Thanks for any help.

Hi Cocoadiva2... I'm not a vet by any means but, I still want to offer my opinion. My thought process is this, if cutting your hair leaves you with a boring style that makes you dwell on the length, then I would suggest cutting it to a fun style that you can enjoy while it's growing.

BTW, I started my growth process about 6 months after cutting to a chin length bob! I loved watching my bob grow out!

Yup, cut into a nice style first. Otherwise you will be stuck with lots of bunning because you have too. And when it gets so long you will have to cut it anyway. I'm a big advocate of cutting.

I've done several cuts over the past couple of years and now I'm left with hair that I know I will grow out b/c it's finally healthy how I like it.

Thanks ladies! I think i will go ahead and cut my hair into that bob. The hard part will be finding a stylist.

I've been going to the Dominican salon for blowouts for yrs and now i've lost touch with all the regular stylists.

I just evened my hair out in the beginning, but if I could go back I'd have a style cut. I will never do "just even" again. A style cut makes hair care and the grow out period so much more fun and looks better IMO.

I started with shoulder length hair grew it out to almost mid back and then cut it to jaw length for the heck of it and now have it at a shoulder length bob.

I usually go to hair cuttery for my cuts... AND they do what I tell them to do... big plus!
