Once you go lace you'll never go back! omg I love lace wigs their sooo cool! they look so real! omg I like them better than half wigs. . .and human half wigs OMG

I wanna try one too. How do you protect your hairline from the glue?

Good question. I'm planning on visiting a lace wig store just out of curiosity. I love my half wig. I'll never go back to sew ins..

I just make sure no glue touches the hairline. & you have to be careful when removing, you cant just pull it off. You have to dissolve all the glue first.

Besides sewins I love my lace wig! it looks like my own even though mine is almost the same length....:lick:
I never wear bss wigs, lace wigs are the best & they last a long time as long as you take care of it.
:yep::yep:

It is like that with weaves too.....It really is a process to get used to your regular hair again.

Thats why I need to get out of this thread.

I wore a half wig EVERYDAY from August thru February. I've been wearing my hair out for the last couple of days and I'm still trying to get used to wearing my own hair. Those wigs became a crutch.

But... I still want to try a lace front. This thread isn't helping much.

I have one but I haven't worn it yet. The damnn thing cost me 700.00 bucks. I just haven't felt like cutting the lace or applying the glue just yet. Currently I am wearing 100% human yaki wig with MONO and everyone at the office thinks it's my hair. I love being able to take it off in the evening and moisturize my hair and feel my scalp (Ahhh, what a relief) Eventually I will be wearing my full lace but until then I am wearng full 100% human wigs and also 100% human half wigs...

Either way it's all good and it's a great protective style..

That looks like a great idea to pin it, but I have never seen a lace wig that would cover a person's head that has the widows peak at the temples instead of the top of the head.

Won't it be too far down on my forehead? I want it to look really natural like the celebs. If i didn't know Bey wore lace fronts, i would never be able to tell it's not her hair.

I really want one. THat's the ultimate in protective hairstyle. All hair covered. They're too expensive for me to buy one and then "experiment", so i feel like i need a real life tutorial before i take the leap

If you have a small forehead then it might look strange. But mine is a good size:look: I put it about 1/2cm from the hairline & use a small amount of glue to hold it down. You don't want too much & if you use tape just cut it smaller. You could also just pin it in and wear bangs. That's what I did half the time. I never apply the nape and hardly applied the temples. Just the very front that everyone will see.:yep::yep:
I do have a few pics from when I first got it in my fotki if you want to check it out & surprisingly it is still locked... pw in the profile.

I read in another thread that this one girl uses wig clips to secure hers. She sews them into the lace front. I thought that was such a cool idea that it stuck in my head. I intend to try it one day.

I think this will be my next hair investment since I rock 1/2s all the time. Usually I wear my bun under it.

ITA, great youtube video. So if I need help doing it like that, best believe I will be PMing you :drunk: :lachen:

I just buy the cheap ones that range from 54.99 to 89.99 in hair stores. I want an expensive one. . when I get rich lol. I still havent glued or tape it. they are just as secure as normal wigs. . . with and without combs.

I'm on the prowl for a remy wig. What's the difference between a full lace and a front lace?

I believe, full lace has lace around the entire perimeter of the wig which gives you the ability to wear it up in a ponytail or up-do, whereas lace front only has lace on the "front" hairline. HTH

Let me just say : I love Lace Wigs! (love is a understatement):drunk: I am hiding my hair underneath them for a year!
But, I don't use glue of tape I just wear twists and pin the wig to my hair and it still looks great and doesn't move .. I made a really short video on it for my blog

HTH

That song on your video is Teedra Moses, right? What's the name of it?

And great video!!

Everyone cant wear LF, it all depends on the shape of the persons hairline. As you see Tyra has a big forehead and Bey's is big enough to wear them and not look like a baby monkey(meaning that the LF is too far down on the head).
I have a full LF and have had it since 8/08, I love my LF. I have pics in my Fotki the PW is Breh. I have a big forehead so I can do it. My friend wants one but she only has a 3 finger forehead and a funny hairline and its not enough space.
And when I say big forehead I mean just using that space to apply glue and tapes and not have to worry aboout it getting on ya hair. But if you have a normal size you just have to extra extra careful....

I have a question. How often do you wear/remove the wig???? How does that work?
I personally wear mine for like 8 wks str8. I take it off weekly to wash, dc, and cornroll my hair and slap it back on. Oh and I wash and DC the LF weekly too.
