Yeah, they are too big. If you make them smaller I am sure they would be really pretty. Maybe a third of the thickness. Or Senegalese twists, I love those.

I'm thinking maybe hair too thin. When I make 'em smaller they feel weird in my hands. That probably doesn't make sense. Oh well.

Yes, you must make them smaller and perhaps even dip them in water after you're done to get them to puff up a bit.

My hair is thin too but when they are thin they look "fuller".

Make sure you show us some pics..

Girrl, they are gone!!  I broke the twists above in two and re-twisted; go the Kingdom Hall and my girls were like . . . :lachen:. I've decided my texture/thickness of hair just ain't having it. I didn't want to wear it up or in a bun (do that almost every day); wanted something different, and I wanted it to hang. It's not often this stuff hands bra-strap and a skosh beyond. It did last night.

Oh well, now I know. When I go on Boston trip this summer, twist my hair . . . NOPE, NADA, NOT!

Lovinlocks you should not give up. It appears you have a good amount of hair to work with. Dont give that fast. If I can do it, anybody can.

Lovinlocks, did your twists look like worms squirming in pain? I'll tell you why I ask after you answer.

My twists look like that too. Your (our) hair probably isn't coily enough to have the volume that other hair types do I think. That's my theory anyway. :ohwell:

Girrrl, dey wuz like anorexic. That's the word that comes to my mind. If you go to my Fotki there is a shot of me face forward and it's like the hair is stuck to my head because it's so thin.

Yeah, girl, probably :perplexed And, I ain't complainin' don't wanna turn in my hair just you know every style not for everybody. Guess it's true too, I'm getting older (49 years young) and my hair is definitely thinning out. Shoot, I'm lookin' at my grandma's head why I'm playin'!!!!! :lachen:

See, it's coz you're not listening. :spank: We told you to make them thin.

Chile, let me show what we mean by thin (top pics show freshly done, squirming like worms in pain twists). That's the size you need to make. Then when you dunk them in water, they get fatter as shown in pics below but also they hang straight and look better:

After a few washes, they get even fatter and look so much fuller:

I have fine strands so if I made twists as thick as you did, even I wouldn't leave the house with them looking like that :look: . Now smaller twists not only look fuller and don't give a scalp-y look, but they are also easier to style and do things with.

But it takes foooorrrrreeevvvveeeeeerrrrr. That's why I jsut wear my fat skinnies up.

Yeah, and girls, I ain't got time. IOW, wearing 'em don't mean that much to me (now that I see what's up). But, tell ya what . . . I am SO glad to have my fellow hair enthusiasts to tell me why/how I was all jacked up. ha ha a ha h
