I am new to wrapping my hair and I have a few questions those who wear their hair wrapped for cultural or religious reasons.

1. What type of material do you use, i.e. cotton, silk, rayon...?

2. What hairstyles do you wear under the wrap?

3. What products do you use?

4. How do I overcome the challange the head wraps slip off?

5. Do you waer the wrap out of the house only or in your home as well?

I think that is all for now.

(I was told that this was on topic and to move it here, as I had originally posted this in the Off-Topic forum)

1. What type of material do you use, i.e. cotton, silk, rayon...?
I use silk underneath cotton

2. What hairstyles do you wear under the wrap?
I just wrap my hair under the wrap. The point is for no one to see my hair.

3. What products do you use?
Moisturizers

4. How do I overcome the challange the head wraps slip off?
Just make sure you have it on tight enough and it should be all good

5. Do you waer the wrap out of the house only or in your home as well?
At first, just at home, but I am more confident wearing it out of the house now.

Thank you for answering. I was hopping to get more responses as I am new to wearing my hair wrapped. I have worn a scarf since childhood, but that is different.

Just for clarification, are you talking about wrapping your head in preparation for sleep? Or using a head wrap as an accessory for an outfit?

I think she means using a headwrap coz she said "for religious or cultural reasons"
.

1. What type of material do you use, i.e. cotton, silk, rayon...?
Any. It doesn't matter to me because my hair is always protected. I always have a plastic cap on under the wrap.

2. What hairstyles do you wear under the wrap?
Usually my hair is braided or in twists

3. What products do you use?
I don't use any products when my hair is braided or in twists, so no products when I'm wrapping my head. The baggy ensures that my hair doesn't dry up.

4. How do I overcome the challange the head wraps slip off?
Wrap securely but not too tight. I also make sure that the edge of the wrap is on my forehead not my hairline.

5. Do you wear the wrap out of the house only or in your home
I wear it both at home and out of the home. I even wear them to work.
