I know some people have had terrible experiences and some have had awesome ones with Pantene products. I used to use their conditioner when I was in my early teens and it made my hair so soft and it had nice slip so I am here to ask...Is panten really bad? Or is it good? It depends on the person right. I went thru the archives and folks were saying it puts holes in your hair, it makes you bald in 5 years and it makes it have extreme build up, it leaves wax on the hair.....etc.....I just need some answers to help me decide if I should try using it again on my hair since that's the only one that EVER really did anything for me noticeable....except ORS which I love and Motions CPR which I liked using....but those are more protein geared. I need a good moisturizing shampoo and condish...and perhaps a good lotion.

I've never heard of Pantene making people bald. I've only used Pantene conditoner and I don't use it that often. I only get it when it's on sale. You're supposed to switch your conditioners. Using the same conditioner over and over will make it ineffective.

I used the shampoo and conditioner for years with no problems. But I joined LHCF and started trying other shampoos etc... my hair reacted badly. So i went back to Pantene. I still alternate with other shampoos cos I need to finish them. But Im going back to my Pantene for life and various conditioners...

Pantene not bad, I used to use the one in the white bottle back in the day..They changed their forumula and it left a film on my hair. I use it a couple times after that. But perfer other shampoo and conditioners.

I used the relaxed and natural line (brown) about 5 years ago. The shampoo, conditoner and moisturizing lotion. I used it for about a year, i actually think this kept hair on my head because this was all i was using. I didn't know how to take care of my hair but it was still growing.

Everybody's hair is not the same, so just because it did not work for others doesn't mean that it's a bad product.I'm sure there's a lot of people who use Pantene and love it. If you used it in the past and it worked for you, then I say give it another shot and see if you get the same results.I use the Pantene Relaxed and Natural breakage defense conditioner and it works for me.

I've only used Pantene R&N intense moisturizing conditoner and it always works great. I've never had problems with it

I have used Pantene off and on for years, and it is by far one of my faves. I used to leave it in as a leave in as well, and I loved the way my curls looked with it. Never had any problems.

I used it a long time ago like in elementary school, and I didn't have any problems, but it has those harsh sulfates, but they have a new nature fusion line, that I might try, I like patene pro-v, my aunt is a stylist and she doesn't like patene, but I liked it though.......

It puts holes in your hair? Never heard that one! I wonder why some people think that

Pantene products are okay for me, I wanna use the new natural line with cassia in it

I don't use the shampoo b/c of the the SLS but I have used the conditioners in the past. None of them did anything for me until this new one that just came out.... the Pro-V Nature Fusion one... that one has stopped my breakage tremendously!

My sister uses the Relaxed and Natural line and swears by it
.

i've been using smooth n sleek for the past 9 yrs at least and it honestly is the best moisturizing shamp/cond i've ever found.:ohwell:

When I had a relaxer, I used the R&N line with no problems. Now, I use the moisture mask in the white jar and it provides excellent slip and moisture. I also plan on trying their new line.

Actually you just need to clarify.

I've reviewed Pantene products and have not been impressed.

That said, the Nature Fusion line shows some promise. I forget which, but the one with the 5 oils at the top of the ingredient list is on my "must try list".

I used Pantene for years. I liked the DCs, the moisture and the curly hair line. I loved it. I just thought I needed "expensive" stuff when I decided to "get serious" about my hair. I may have been wrong.

I kind of have mixed emotions about pantene. I use their stuff sometimes, but not often. There are other products that I find mesh with my hair a little better.

My grandmother swears by Pantene this is the only hair care line she will use. (She has been using it for nine-teen years) When I was younger I hated Pantene. A couple of years ago when I first came to LHCF everyone was raving about the, "New Pantene Lines" being the PJ that I am:lachen:I just had to get all of the new lines:rolleyes:. I liked them all. As a matter of fact I deep conditioned with "Time Renewal Replenishing Mask" last night. Let me just say my hair felt like butter after I rinsed.
In my opinion Pantene conditioners are good for condition washes.

Aww man I used to absolutely love Pantene. This was the first "non-black" product line that I remember buying. I was in college and I had no money, Pantene is not expensive but it isnt 99 cents either but it was so worth it. I used it for years and my hair always looked and smelled great. B/n Pantene and the Dominican salon, my hair was the ish!!!

I love the Relaxed & Natural Breakage Defense Mask. Also I just tried the Nature Fusion creamy leave-in for a rollerset last night. It worked great and gave my hair slip.

I saw this leave-in and was tempted ,now I want to try it.
My hair likes most all pantene products never had a problem.

I used to looooooove me some pantene back in the day! Relaxed and transitioning. Then when I started using more natural stuff, I went to pantene one day on a whim and my hair was like bissssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh please! and nearly pimped slapped me. So I don't use it no mo. I gave it to mommy.

I had used the sleek and smooth line for YEARS. Then restorative line came out and I switched to that. Wasn't happy. Then the daily moisture stuff with the gold label came out and I fell in  I used that until I switched to garnier fructis long and strong. By the time I started my hair care journey I was hearing that pantene was really bad because of the sulfates and also later I heard that stylists didn't like it because it coated your hair causing moisture to be locked out. Also I remember hearing that they didn't like it because the coating was not meant to be used with heat. So blowdrying, curling irons, and flat irons were a no no if using pantene. I don't know if thats true or not but I can say that my hair stayed pretty short when I used pantene it just felt good. Ofcourse I had a ton of other really bad habits at the sametime so I can't exactly place all the blame on their doorstep.

Personally, I love Pantene's new moisturizing conditioner. I co-wash daily and normally put this on dry hair and apply a plastic cap before I exercise and my hair is so nice and soft after I rinse. I've not tried the moisturizing shampoo, but I am going to soon. I currently have Kenra's moisturizing shampoo, which I paid a lot of money for, and I hate it.

Try it and let me know what you think.

I don't think Pantene's bad. When I was natural and wearing locs, I'd just wash with the R&N shampoo and that was all I needed. Didn't even bother conditioning. The only reason I stopped using it was because the sulfates made my scalp flake up something fierce. But if it doesn't bother your scalp and it makes your hair happy, I say go for it.

I've never had any negative results from using Pantene... :nono: I may use it from time to time for Conditioner Washes, but not on a regular basis; I acutally keep a bottle in the Shower along with some others that I use.

Since coming here, I've learned so much about other products that I enjoy using and have had wonderful results with. :yep: I see Pantene as a good back-up to keep on hand.
