I have edges breakage near my right temple. I'm thinking it's from using certain products, but I don't know. I'm not getting it on the left side.

If you HAD this problem what did you do to make it stop?

TIA!

I started balding right at my left temple and I wasn't sure what was causing it. I stopped putting my scarf on so tight at night and I don't sleep on my left side anymore. I also bought Dr. Miracle's temple balm (I think that's what it was - this was pre-LHCF so I was trying anything). Whatever it was worked and my hair started filling in again. I wish I had a before and after to show you, but I think just giving that spot extra TLC helped.

Did the temple balm work? I bought this a couple of years ago and never used it (don't ask me why cause I don't remember). It's still sitting under my sink.

I also am trying not to sleep on the right side too. My other problem is parting my hair on that side as well. I'll do the part on the other side. Maybe this will help. I can't stand parting my hair in the middle. Ughhh! Maybe if my face was skinnier I would.

I massage my edges with with Hairobics scalp booster or any temple balm and I also reduced the usage of headbands ecpecially considering my edges are still pretty weak. Finally I am in a no combing challenge (then again I can afford to do so since I have a twa) and that has helped me. HTH

a while ago i noticed that the headbands i was using were getting tangled in the hair at my nape and temples (i was using thin round headbands that would roll up and down my head) so i started using flat head bands. also, i started wearing them less often and when i do wear them i don't wear them as tight.

other ladies have found that castor oil has helped thicken their hairline/edges :)

I love your siggy pic.

I'm going to begin drying my hair this way. Even though my "bangs" seem to be very long when wet, once it dries I can see with being near my eyebrows. Right now, the part on the side that I'm used to doing isn't cutting it anymore. My hair looks stupid when it dries.

I love your hair RMichelle I've added you to my list of beautiful hair ladies, (the ones I like to stalk:sekret:)

Jada1111 do you sleep on that side? I discovered I was unconsciously rubbing my head back and forth in the pillow to settle for sleep. Ever since, I wear silk headband and sleep on a silk pillowcase.

For the ladies who have used castor oil to grow their hair, does growth come from using Jamaican black castor oil or the regular castor oil ? Or does it even matter?

Yes, but I've been trying not to. I sleep on satin pillowcases. Been doing this ever since I was relaxed, because I couldn't stand wearing the scarves or headbonnets to bed.

I'm going to invest in a silk headband. I think this may work. :yep:

I use both...But once I started using the JBCO consistently, I started to really notice growth along my hairline what was broken....

My right side has always been a bit sparse. The only thing that seemed to work is liquid cortisone and my ayurvedic powders. I started my tea/amla/brahmi hair tonic and within 14 days I noticed more "coverage". It's looking much better lately. What ever you do try and keep that area moisturized at all times.
