How much conditioner??

Hey gals...There are a number of conditioners that so many here love and that I just think are ok (Elucence, Silicon Mix (like but no love), and AO HSR). Am I using too much? Is this a problem?

I'm pretty heavy handed and like to coat my hair almost like a virgin perm with my conditioners. Am I using too much with these conditioners? Is less more? What products have you found that you ended up liking after using LESS of it??

silicon mix is like that. i hated it the first time i used it. the second time i used much less and it was much better. it still won't be a staple though.

Ummmm I use A LOT of everything. I use a whole can of coconut milk for each conditioning session. I also use like a palmful of castor oil each day LOL.

Being heavy handed works for me, that way I make sure my hair is properly moisturized and protected.

Maybe if I used more expensive stuff then I'd use less?

You are wasting product. Just coat the hair and make sure you get a thin coat on all of your strands. That's all you need.

For me it takes a lot of product to get the hair coated. Definitely more than a DIME of product.

I'm the same way. I use like half a bottle of conditioner and loads of coconut oil. Plus I seriously dry off my hair before putting on the conditioner so I feel like I need more to coat each strand...

Definitely, I'm sure that's what we all do, but that's a different amount for different people.

Hmmm....seems like I'm not alone with using tons of conditioner. I guess just for the conditioners that don't seem to work, I can try them in a smaller amounts before I totally disregard them and take um to the swap board!

I use 8-12 ounces of conditioner every time I do my hair - and I've tried less, thinking that I was 'just wasting product' and it's just not worth it - I have to pull/tug/stress my hair more, and long-term, that's a killer.
I get the kind of results I want with that much product, and that's what matters. So - use what you want. If you & your pocketbook are cool with it, roll on!

I think this might be an individual case. If one is relaxed with thin strands - that may be fine... but if one is natural with dense Strands.... That won't work at all. So it is an individual choice/need.

RIGHT! I have to use alot...That is why I am making stuff constantly. I can't afford the stuff I love out there. The Shipping alone would kill me.
