Bigen Hair color Review - Oriental Black vs. Blue Black

For Bigen Users, which color do you prefer ??????

My grays are quite resilient, and they have never faded with Bigen.
 
I think I prefer Oriental Black, I like dark hair, but the blue black was a bit harsh on my hair. I think Bigen did a number on my hair the last time I use it, from here on out I am just going to use a rinse.

I'm thinking about using a Bigen.

And which one did you use, the commercial or the BSS version?

I bought it from a Korean BSS, I didn't know there was a commercial version.

I am not really sure what the problem was, I applied 2 boxes on my hair in it's natural curly state. I left it in for the amount of time required on the box, but for some reason the product would not completely rinse out of my hair. I got in the shower no less than 4 times, it was such an ordeal.

Ever since then my hair had been acting funny...I've had some breakage, split ends. I got a trim in November and my hair is doing better. I am not sure if it was the Bigen(I've never had issues before), or that my hair was not detangled when I applied it. I actually shampooed with a clarifying shampoo twice after trying to rinse the product and I still had a hard time. I was literally talking to myself telling myself to "stay calm", lol...I just knew I was gonna be bald.

I can't really pin it on anything, my hair didn't have a lot of product in it before coloring, and my hair detangles very easy in the shower, so it wasn't all tangled after the water hit it. I have always been pretty happy with Bigen, but one experience like that is enough for me.
 
I prefer blue black. This last time I used bigen, I picked up the oriental black by mistake and it's not dark enough for me :)

Yeah, the commercial one is sold at Walmart and some BSS's. The box even looks different.

The original one is that small yellow/orange and white box sold at BSS's.

Okay I see you used Bigen in the past with no issues. What did you do differently this time? I wasn't clear with one of your earlier posts. Did you normally use Oriental Black and this time you switched to Blue Black?

Okay, that was my last question (I think) and I'll stop bothering you. :lol:
 
I luv this stuff! back in the summer of 07 I went to the salon and died my hair oriental black and it was blaaaaaaaack! Once my income tax comes in I'm going to color it again but with oriental black mixed with blue black. I love black hair. Oh yeah and when she colored it my hair was wet and I was transitioning at the time. But my hair took the color awesomely (is that a word? lol) Soo yeah bigen gets like 5 thumbs up for me!
 
I love bigen. i have some oriental black that's I've been sitting on for about 2 weeks because i meant to get blue black (that, and i got lazy). I haven't put it in yet because i'm debating going back to get the blue black, but oriental back is nice too (more natural, softer). I forgot about it until this thread. I think i'm going to go buy the blue black tomorrow.

but i dont know what to vote for, because i really like them both equally in their own way.
 
Has anyone tried to use this on processed indian remy hair? I have some Kinky straight hair thats about a 2-1b ish color. I wanted Jet black but they didnt have it so I took what I could get....
 
I tend not to like blue black because blue is a cool tone and blue black is referring to the base color.

I'd also get it from the bss and not Wally.

Anyone using this haircolor I urge you to do a patch test, I had a severe allergic reaction to ppd. Had to see a dermatologist and was given a script for Prednisone.
 
If you google bigen you'll find lots of reviews about this product. I was concerned with the high number of reports of allergic reactions so I decided not to risk it on my own hair. It works very well on weave hair though. I prefer oriental black to blue black.
 
I agree with the above poster. I won't use this on my hair but I did use it on weave hair and was pleased with results. Although it wasn't enough in the bottle and I had to use two I was pleased, but I won't do it again now that I use revlon on m weave hair with better results.
 
I hate this brand - made my hair hard and crunchy as he!!; I had to double efforts to get it back together before going back to my stand by: Clairol Conditions
 
I use the oriental black to cover an old dye job. I like it because its dark but natural looking. I dyed it back in Sept/OCt and its still going strong. I got my hair professionally straightened on 11/29 and she thought it was my natural color.
 
I like both. I'm just now going back to dying my hair after about 4 years, and I have rinsed for 10 minutes, conditioned, shampooed (lathered twice), conditioned, rinsed, air-dried and flat-ironed. My hair didn't feel right, so I rinsed & conditioned AGAIN and I STILL have dye residue! Currently sitting with conditioner (Mizani Silk Bath) under a plastic cap and about to rinse again... But did I do something wrong? Is it my hair? Did I get a bad batch?
 
Blue black is best imo

My hair is naturally ink black so its a better match for me.

As for those having issues rinsing out, that tends to happen with almost any brand perm dye the darker you go. Especially with the blue or purple bases. Best thing to do is rinse in the sink with straight cold water til it runs clear. Every time you wash with a sulfate poo though you're still going to see some purple or blue hue for a bit.

As others have said, get the real stuff not the commercial box stuff (which will always be at wally world and is also found in bss).
