I have had it with natural hair. I have been natural since 2005. I have an appt to get a relaxer today. Any suggestions on what brand of relaxer. I told her I wanted Mizani, I've heard good things about it. Are there any other good ones out there? TIA

I love my Mizani Lye relaxer. But before switching over to lye, I use Soft and Beautiful No-Lye Botanical, for sensitive scalp. I love this stuff, cause it didn't burn at my scalp at all. Also got my hair super straight. I heard alot of good things about ORS Olive Oil Relaxer. Thats my relaxer experiences. HTH......

The ones I like are Elasta QP and ORS. I'm looking into trying possibly trying a new one. ORS leaves my hair soft with pretty waves but not straight though.

i just recently tried silk elements, and i like'd it. plus it has protein in it, if im not mistaken.

i love the mazani sensitive scalp formula. it is the only relaxer that takes well in my hair without burning the heck outta my scalp lol. before mazani ive used the olive oil perms. i have super thick hair. make sure you keep your hair moisturized afterwards. good luck hunnie =D

I use Phyto Index II. I had a lot of shedding with many other relaxers (Mizani, Affirm), but I have very dry hair. For me Phyto has been gentle and effective. I just started mixing it with olive oil because I'm trying to texlax from now on..good luck :)

I've been relaxed for over 30 years, and there are two relaxers that I swear by:

Design Essentials
Affirm with Fiberguard

Thanks ladies, I had my hair relaxed using Mizani Sensitive. So far so good, feels really good not at all dry. I forgot how straight relaxers straighten hair.
