This isn't my first rollerwrap, but this is the first one using the anchoring method.

Here's what I did
  • Pre-pooed
  • Shampooed with diluted shampoo (in color application bottle) and co-washed
  • DC'd with CPR by motions and oil
  • Put in Lacio Lacio & Nairobi styling foam
  • Set with setting lotion mix
  • When dry, took out rollers, sprayed with ORS Olive Oil Sheen and wrapped overnight
Here is what it looks like....

Not exactly sure how I feel about it. It's ok for a first attempt I guess...

Some of the rollers weren't as tight as I wanted...especially the anchor rollers. I guess I'm not pinning it in the right place.

Things I will do differently next time...
  • Just water setting lotion
  • Steam treatment (using Sam Jones homemade method)
  • smaller rollers for more curl
  • not so much oil sheen (i like the shine at first, but it weight it down a bit)
I actually look forward to trying this again soon. If I'm out of work tomorrow because of snow, I may do it then...LOL I'll be bored!!

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome!

Your hair looks nice.

Question - did you find that your hair took longer to dry using this method since the rollers are anchored together? I used to use this method when I was relaxed & I would have to eventually "unanchor" the rollers so the heat could get down to my roots. It made a pretty set but it took forever to dry.

Yes it took my hair about 2 hours to dry this time. The roots weren't as much a problem as the hair between the rollers. Since that was touching, it took longer to dry (if that makes sense).

This has prompted me to consider getting a soft bonnet dryer....I need to be able to lay down while doing this if it's gonna take 2 hours.

Thanks for the link! I like OP's hair, it's pretty:yep:...off to check out the link so I can understand better what this is...

Thanks! I hope you have a better understanding of what the anchor method is.

I was just using the snap on part to my rollers before, but I had serious creases. This method, in theory, is supposed to produce a smoother set. I like it in theory and hope to like it more when I get more practice.
