This is a HIT for me too. I used it for the first for my last realxer and fell in love with it. I now have 2 favorite relaxers - Design Essentials and the Mizani BB (mild):yep:.

Guess what? When I was relaxing my hair with the Mizani BB almost 3 months ago, I had forgotten to base my scalp first, but I never experienced any burns, in fact, I finally started to feel a slight tingle in my nape area after approximately 14 or 15 minutes of it being on my hair, and by that time, time was up anyway - amazing:lick:!!!

I know probably soon I won't be able to find the Design Essentails relaxer anymore but at least I have a backup plan - Mizani Butter Blend to the rescue:grin:.

I believe it. I never felt a thing while it was processing, I was based well though. I really like how the lye made my hair so much softer, at least that's what I attributing the softness to. MBB forever!!! I think I'll try it at home next time, the salon's process was exactly the same as how I do my hair but I was afraid of using lye myself. Not anymore. Pray I don't ruin my hair.

 Me too. I love this relaxer. I relaxed on the 2nd and I was waiting for the burning to start but it didnt. I wasnt sure whether or not it was working:perplexed. After I rinsed it out I was like WOW. its a wonderful relaxer and my staple for twice a year.

Hit: Mizani Butter Blend Rhelaxer- My first time trying a lye relaxer and I loved it:grin:. My hair is silky.

Miss: My "trim":perplexed.

Hits:
Profectiv Healthy ends
Body shop macademia straightening balm
Ouidad water works clarifying/chelating shampoo

Revisited Hit
Cabots Hot Oil Treatment- a great hard to find product
Bought a box full last year at Big Lots.

Big hit: Magic soap that Traycee made from K.I.S.S. I mixed the dr bronners almond soap w/some oils (Jojoba, almond, meadowfoam) and water. My hair is SUPER soft and it felt conditioned even before I applied a conditioner. I love it!

Revisited Hits
ABBA Moist shampoo
My DC mix of AO Blue green algae, ORS RP, Apretadora and Ojon Tawaka--amazing slip and moisture!
Keracare Oil Moisturizer with Jojoba oil
Hard Mesh rollers for straighter roots deep into relaxer stretch

On the fence: NuNaat Keratin and Cupuacu Butter Shampoo and Hair Mask

I washed and conditioned w/this stuff then used my Jessicurl Rockin Ringlets for a WnG and talk about some serious shrinkage!!! My hair shrank to NL :ohwell: and was so thick, I couldn't get my hand in to my scalp! I don't mind the shrinkage and thickness, but my hair was thirsty afterward as well....I was just like unh unh :nono: but before I get rid of it, I'll try it again and post an update.

ETA: HIT- Kan Kanechomn Ceramids leave in!! Used last night after rinsing dc mixed w/some HV Moist 24/7 and I'm in love. I heart ceramides anyway... Thank you for my gift, LDIP !!

You Welcome. I love that stuff too the Karite butter is my fave. How did that work out for ya?

Mega HIT: Victoria Secrets Leave In Detangler

This stuff is awesome!! I did a lazy ponytail rollerset last night and all I used was this and some water and my curls turned out so soft!! I could tell it was going to work good cause as I was rolling my hair, it was really smooth feeling. I sprayed a little on my new growth this morning to smooth it down and it works wonders on dry hair too.

Other Hits: Victoria Secrets shampoo and conditioner..the smell is nice and lingers well into the next day.

COSIGNING!!! I LOVE it.....I stocked up today....don't want to run out!

Aubrey Organics is big fat MISS! I jumped and rejumped on that AO bandwagon..but never again. Ugh!! All of their products left my hair a dry, tangled, hot, ghetto mess!

Hits: Optimum Salon Repair intensive reconstructor, deep conditioner and elasticity
re-builder. I've used this line 3x and my hair has such a balance of strength and
moisture. I have an underprocessed spot in the back and even that feels strong
as well as soft. My hair doesn't need any other moisturizers, I may use oil or a
shine pomade just for smoothness and shine, but nothing extra for moisture.

Hit: Proclaim super setting lotion: Used this for rollersetting yesterday and I have well
defined curls that are also very soft. My curls still look good today.

Undecided: Optimum Salon Repair hair and scalp equalizer: Too heavy to use all over
scalp, made my hair greasy. Next time I'll try a tiny bit on the lengths as a
finisher. It gives lots of shine and it smooths but it's almose like liquid grease.

An unfortunate MISS:

ORS Replenishing Conditioner/Pak - I love pre-pooing with this stuff. But since I started using it weekly, my scalp had been ON FIRE. Just itching and irritated. I decided to cut back on some products to find the culprit and after 2 washes WITHOUT using the ORS RP as a pre-poo - NO ITCHING.

I am going to have to stop using it.

MISS:
Doing henna treatments too much. I think I got too happy at it helping me eliminate breakage and did it weekly for 3 weeks. Um, that was too much. The first and 2nd were okay, but that 3rd took my hair to another level. :spinning: I think I will stick to once every 3 weeks or stop adding in extra protein (I used Marine Collagen in my mixture)

Surprising HIT:
Trader Joes Nourish Spa shampoo - great sulfate free clarifying shampoo. I would not use this as my regular shampoo, but a a first lather shampoo. I liked it.

Revisted Hit:
Kenra Platinum shampoo for Thick/Coarse hair - I used this back in the day before I was able to determine what a HIT or MIS was for my hair. I decided to try this again in the hope of going sulfate free and this one is really great. :yep:

Jan Hits

-Joico MR Shampoo (Love this)
-Joico MR Balm (Hair is drenched in moisture)
-Rusk Smooother Leave-in (Rollersets are so moisturized)
-Rusk Sensories Calm Conditioner ( BEST!!!)
-IC hair polisher for color-treated hair(best rollersetting serum and end sealer EVER)
-Healthy textures rollersetting DVD

Miss
-Silcon Mix (realized it was making my hair soft, but no real nourishment):nono:
-Silicon Mix/with protein (blue one;nothing like the original;just sat there)

Revisited hits
1. Biolustre protein treatment--does a great job, stops breakage but I won't be reordering it. I think Aphogee is just as good and costs less.

2. Keracare Oil Moisturizer with jojoba oil--great for rollersets, made my hair very moist
3. Jane Carter Nourish and Shine keeps my hair buttery soft and smells great.

On the Fence
Nairobi foam wrap--I still haven't figured out how to use this. I mixed it with the Keracare oil moisturizer and my hair did come out nice but I'm not sure about this one. It didn't give me blinging shine either.

Revisited Hit: Kemi Oyl...why did I stop using this? My hair loved it when I was relaxed and still does natural.

New Hit: Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in...yes i'm soo late trying this but OMG...i have finally found a leave-in that works. my hair has officially turned a corner!!

Hits:
Braidouts to stretch my hair and bantu knot outs as an everyday style.

Using a tshirt instead of a towel to dry my hair (I've been doing this for a couple of months now and I'll never go back to towels).

Plain coconut milk as a conditioner. I stopped using this a couple of months ago because I wasn't wearing my hair out. Now that I wear it out I need the moisture and protein I get from the coconut milk, especially when I don't DC.

I experienced this too with henna and I wasn't even doing them as often as you were..maybe every two weeks and it wasn't good. I changed to once a month and now every 2 or 3 months because I am using the Aphogee 2 minute one or twice a month. Basically all I want from henna now is the color that it gives me.

revisited hit:
silk elements foam wrap. this made my hair so soft and bouncy.
redken all soft heavy cream

hit:
mixing salerm 21 and gvp redken anti snap as a leave in

mixing avosoya oil in my deep conditioners

avosoya as a sealant. my hair is soooooooo soft. i think this will be my new fave sealant since i only use my coconut oil and vatika oil at night, i've been looking for a nice light oil and its been in my stash all along. and its not greasy.
