I have a long term goal in mind (see my aviator)

Now I am attempting to put together a regimen
to grow 3-4 inches of length by August (I have an event).

I need help from you more exsprienced ladies.
I had taken Biotin for two months and I think
it was a good aid for me, but it was not until
I had been using the product for several weeks
did I come to find out it could have been the cause
of my acne.

I ran out o the Biotin -- not sure I want to take a chance
of break outs again. (Purchased Alpha Lipoic Acid = for
smoother skin & samller pores) but appears from another
thread will not work well with Biotin???

Considering the MT but I am afraid of the shedding.
I think I need aids to reach my goal by August.

Now considering Ayurveda :perplexed
Not sure I understand it could make my hair darker???

I have posted photos below taken today Not sure of lenght now?
Neck I think??

I have not used flat irons since finding this blog.
I roller set twice a week, and DC twice a week
And I see a difference in the health and shedding.

Help!!!!!!!!!!! I do not know what I am doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I think if you are exercising, eating really healthy, and getting adequate sleep your hair will grow at its optimal rate. I haven't seen any convincing pictures that show that external growth aids really affect growth rate.

I have seen information on here and elsewhere about caffeine (coffee/tea rinses) being able to extend the growth phase, so that may be helpful. You can check the coffee thread for that one, I think it's called coffee or caffeine for hair growth. Other posters have also reported that caffeine stops their shedding.

If you want to retain all your length then stay with washing and DC'ing often since it's working for you. I would just add protective styling (buns or pin ups) to keep your ends healthy and on your head.

The pick in your siggy looks like you're neck length. But since your hair is curled I can't tell what your actual length is. Do you have any straight/stretched hair pictures?

Ok so still trying to post attachments not sure what is up!!:ohwell:

My siggy on the right is the day I started.

Oh wow...you definitely have made a lot of progress! Congrats! Your hair looks super healthy.

You're hair is long enough to bun or pin up so I would suggest doing that in order to protect your ends until you get to your goal in August.

:yep: Totally agree with that. I've never believed in topical growth aids. I've taken hair vits, but I really dont believe they're worth it since I got MAJOR pimples when I was taking them. My hair benefits most from my METHODS and not my PRODUCTS.

Your hair is very pretty! If you think that is neck length than what is shoulder length??
You have made great progress, so I think you should just keep doing what you're doing.

You are definitely full SL. And like Brooklyn said, keep doing what you're doing. It's obviously working.

I think you'll be able to do that style but to make it full it will probably need extra hair. Either way you have more than enough hair to bun now. And what do you mean you don't know how to do a bun? It's just a ponytail with the ends tucked or pinned.

With the progress you've made so far I definitely think you'll be able to reach your goal by August. And, if you do that high bun like in the picture it will look really good, added hair or not.

Thanks Brooklyn I do not know the lengths?
We need to create a chart if I am Shoulder lenghth then :yep:

I hope that will make me even closer to me goal 4 inches in
7 months. Any advice from you ladies that have been able to
grow hair with aids????

If you are going to go thru with the biotin, the trick is not to take it alone you must /i mean must use other B vitamins such as B5 B6 better yet B50. They will help get rid of the acne issue biotin gives.

If you want to try another growth aid besides Mega Tek or OCT try MN. Its cheap ( family dollar brand). It has given me significant growth.

Here are two different charts. I hope they show up. If they don't just go to google and type in hair length chart and look at the images.

Look, I could say I don't believe in growth aids...but that would just be a lie because my hair is growing super fast lately. First and foremost I believe that you should eat right. Period. Next:
How fast does your hair normally grow per month anyways?

Second:
You've done research on ayurveda what info do you need on it. I've recently started incorporating it into my regime for an extra kick.

If you're too...reluctant to try that might I suggest a caffeine rinse which will keep you out of resting stage by 37 percent more. Meaning the times your hair wouldn't grow as it's resting, it will grow according to the findings...thus leaving you with more hair in the long run. This is what I do I take black tea and I steep it in water (w/ caffeine, or you can use green tea but make sure it's the kind with caffeine) and add to that nettle tea bag (it stimulates hair growth). I ordered mine from iherbs for not more than I pay for lipton http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=1131&at=0 In addition I have boiled with that rosemary leaves (that I cut up so it releases) and sage leaves (that I also cut up), then just drain it), and pour on your final rinse.

If you're sensitive to caffeine (my mom is), do not put the caffeine part in as your final rinse. Use the caffeine part (boil it separately and wait until it cools of course) and pour on your head before your final rinse (leave it on like ten minutes) wash, and then pour the rest as your final rinse (make sure it gets on the scalp), and leave it on!

It's a way to have the whole growth aid thing in a natural way without doing too much.

Lately I've started doing the whole indian powder thing as my shampoo and this as my final rinse.

Now be patient as it takes time before what's inside is going to show up on your hair (meaning what you eat, eat more veggies and protein), but it will. I noticed the nettle took a few weeks to do it's thang but I was just really consistent. The end result is that I'm an inch past mid back (as of Dec...I haven't measured since...I'm natural and in conrows)May I was not even brastrap but slightly above it. I started eating right around Aug and didn't add these natural growth aids until Oct and it took a couple months before my hair started to grow faster from the eating part. Then the growth aids really stepped it up. So anyways my hair grew faster Oct, Nov, Dec then it did all summer.

I believe you can do it! HTH

Well try to decrease your biotin intake along with Vit C. I know you're getting slammed with a lot of good information right now. Find out what works best for you. HTH

MN gave good results to ladies on this board MN is Monsitat (sp?) yeast infection cream.. when I was using it I mixed it with coconut oil and I had great results I slacked off of using it but I am just starting back today being my first day. Your hair looks really healthy and thick I think you possibly could use growth aids to increase your growth along with healthy diet and exercise. GOOD luck Happy Growing

Just wanted to say that your hair looks very pretty! Protective styling is probably your best bet. Sorry I can't offer more advice. I'm trying to get over the SL hump myself!

Thanks Girl I have to learn how to bun.
I have never worn one, but I have this wedding coming up
and that is what we have to wear it.
So I need to start practicing but I always thought my hair was too
short. if I can get another 3 inches I think it will work
But I have only about 7 months that is the reason I was
thinking of a growth aid that could help with the speed.
Under normal day to day life, I could just wait:ohwell:
