I use the parachute brand usually sold in the indian grocery stores. It has a pretty strong coconut smell (its pure). I buy it for hot oil treatments and sealing.

Hi, for future reference, is the Parachute oil refined in any way?

I have used NOW Virgin Coconut Oil and Vatika (not pure but it's great). They are both effective for oil treatments and daily conditioning.

I use this kind it has a very light scent. I buy mine on vitacost.com its $21.79 for 54oz:grin:

I don't remember the brand but I bought a bottle of Unrefined Coconut oil from GNC last year and I loved it!:yep: Walmart has a 16 jar (unrefined) for about $9.00 near the Vitamin section that's pretty good too.

Hi Angelicus, it IS probably refined in some way. When I said pure I meant that it's not cut with mineral oil or petrolatum (at least not to my knowlegde)

I use the NOW Brand --label says Certified Organic Virgin Coconut Oil (cold pressed, unrefined). It doesn't smell too heavy to me, I like this one and haven't tried any other brands but I have seen others use Spectrum I think.

I finally saw that one in Walmart last wk. after yrs of not being able to find it in any of my Walmarts. I am gonna try this one when I finish up the one I have.

I buy mine from walmart out of the Isle where they keep the Cooking oil its called Lou anna Pure Coconut Oil.

Parachute from the Indian food store. I really like it. Some people say it smells like burnt coconut, but I think it works well. It just stinks when you have to put the bottle in water to soften it up.

Nutiva Brand it is not the synthetic kind it is the real thing.
