okay so ive been posting left && right on this board, but this post is legit.
i tried to do a search but the info is too broad to find what im looking for....
my question((s)):
the past couple of months i have noticed a DRASTIC difference in the feel of my hair after comm. dyes && no-lye relaxers. after i comm. dyed my hair i used the little thing of conditioner in it && i PROMISE my hair was silky straight and smooth like NEVER before. So i searched for it && cannot seem to find the EXACT product, some a little close, but no cigar.(i have literally bought EVERY conditioner, deep conditioner, moisturizing lotion, etc from dark & lovely). the dye was the dark & lovely blue black stuff that comes in a purple box. whatever the conditioner in it is...... u have NO idea. okay so i thought maybe it was cuz my hair needed moisture but it felt the same after i dyed it a SECOND time. then i relaxed my hair with ORS olive oil........... oh goodness. the replenishing pak is TO DIE FOR! so of course i went out and bought 5 paks. ive been using everything && nothing seems to give me the same results as when i relax or comm. dye. SO, i guess my question is, do u think my hair likes the baseness (may not be a real word) and then paired with the extreme moisture?? because thats the only thing i can think of.... what do u think??? and how can i get these same results without dyeing my hair every other day or relaxing??? a basic shampoo or conditioner??? PLEASE YALL!! u have NO idea how amazing my hair feels when i do it.
ALSO, my hair absolutely LOVES henna, but due to its extreme drying properties, i dont get the silkiness, just strength...
maybe i should look at the ingredients in the conditioners & go get the stuff i can buy and try that???
please. help. me.
qu'est-ce que vous pensez??

Yea I thought my hair was to die for after relaxing too. I thought it was sooo healthy and nice then one day I woke up with borken off edges and nape and broken off hairs in my head. It was just a temporary fix but really it was damaging my hair. I don't know what to tell you but I hope you aren't dying or relaxing too often to get that look cause one day you might wake up upset like me.

I say if your hair likes Henna use it and find a really good moisturizing cond or DC to use after for the silkiness.

I'm also planning to use henna in the next couple of weeks and I've heard of a lot of ladies mixing it w/oil to reduce the drying properties. Maybe that'll help  Try the recipe board for henna mixes.

Good luck!!!

I'm not relaxing or dyeing often. At least not now. Before lhcf I relaxed about every 8 to 10 weeks, and if my color was fading it'd be about 2 weeks after the relaxer. So not too often. Now I will relax about every 12 to 16 weeks if I or my hair can stand it. Finding a good moisturizer for my hair is like an oxymoron. It's either too heavy and looks greasy or it didn't do nothing. I'm considering using castille soap to wash my hair because I read that it's kinda basic. And doesn't have SLS so it wouldn't be against the rules LOL.

My last henna on the 8th I added about 3 tblsp of evoo and maybe 2 tblsp of honey, after the dye released and I noticed maybe a 10% difference in moisture...

I'm natural, I mix mt henna with a cheapie conditioner like VO5 i mainly use henna as a pre poo not as a colourant. It still feels a bit drying on rising but then I cowash and deep condition after and my hair feels great.
