I've been using Carol's Daughter Tui Hair Oil as a sealant, but...I dunno...I think I like the smell more than anything.....

What do you recommend as a good to try? I'm going hair shopping tonight after work!!! - to treat myself for my upcoming cut I have to do tonight :perplexed

I've upped my usage of coconut oil on my ends daily over the past 3 months. My ends feel softer and more moisturized. Split ends have all but disappeared.

if you like carols daughter i would seal with the hair balm. that stuff is amazing. it has coconut oil in it which is my fave oil but i tend not to use it during the colder months because it solidifies and for my hair thats asking for breakage.
or tey castor oil but the hail balm is my first choice, its amazing and the smell is to die for.

Where do you get coconut oil? Is this somkething I can get at a grocery store??[/QUOTE]

I've used coconut oil too... you can get it at any vitamin shop or natural foods store ie: Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppe.

I've heard but haven't tried it yet that vaseline makes a good sealant...
:yep:

I like HairVeda Cocoasta Shikakai Oil(I love it), I put it on my ends at night or baggie my ends with it overnight and it gets the job done, my ends don't look dry.....also I use NTM silk touch(shout out to sylver2 for this product), and I was told organic virgin coconut oil is good, I haven't tried it, but I will. HTH

Hot Six Oil.

I use Coconut oil too at times, but Hot Six is my fav.

Started to get some of this today but escaped the PJ devil once again. Got to use up what I already have. I really like jojoba oil. Leaves my hair very soft especially with braid-outs. I have also used castor oil but it goes on kind of sticky to me, although I like the ending results.

I highly recommend Jane Carter's Nourish and Shine as a perfect sealant!:yep:
Made of pure all natural butters....shea, kokum, illippe....these butters have such moisturizing qualities...and essential oils. It has a light citrus-y fragrance. I absolutely LOVE it.:lick:

I loved the smell of the Tui Hair Oil. I used to put it on everyday but it doesn't really do much for hair.

Anyway, castor oil is a great sealant.

Ooh How could I forget about this one. I use it all the time on my dd's hair. We call it "yummy" because it smells delicious.

Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, and Unrefined Shea Butter. Loves them all, especially the Shea.

MoroccanOil is very viscous. I like thick products for sealing. However, if you don't want to spend $40, then I would recommend Jojoba oil or Bb. Growth Oil or Growth Serum. They are both very good, cost efficient and easy to wash out. Plus, they have very nourishing ingredients such as Amla, Aloe Vera and I think shea oil.

Also, if you like vicous items, another good idea would be to mix your own. Honey powder or HoneyQuat, castor oil, glycerin, water, and coconut oil. You can also add water soluble shea or any water soluble butter. Melt the oils together first with the honeyquat. I prefer to use boiled water with the shea and then mix it into the oils. Stir until its completely mixed together let it cool.

:sekret: salerm 21 + a rollerset :sekret:

When I used to airdry w/o rollers, I used a body oil that had coconut oil in it and Proclaim hair serum.
