PROTEIN???

Is it a guessing game?

yes & no. I know I need more moisture cuz my hair gets dry fast. So I always, always DC w/ moisture. If I notice I have a little more shedding and breakage, I pop out the Aphogee 2 min Keratin. I also notice (when my hair is wet) it is overly soft (mushy-many people have said not sure what mushy hair feels like so I'll try to describe it) Soft, super duper soft. Like waaaaayyyyyy to soft (how'd I do) then I know I need protein. Also if your strands are stretching--a lot (I can better do this assessment on a dry shed hair). There is a good protein thread poppin' now. It should be on page 1 and say My Discovery (sorry not sure how to do links)

I can generally tell when my hair feels MUSHY (that is the best way for me to describe it), and extra stretchy. When it does feel this way, sometimes I am over-moisturizing and really need a good protein treatment, and sometimes I just messed up and let the conditioner stay on a little longer that day and don't need to break out the heavy protein stuff, when this happens, I use Hayashi System 911 Protein Mist (It is a leave in, which also works as a softener, and detangler). It is good enough to whip my hair back into to shape, but not a protein overload, so you can avoid the snapping and breaking issues that some of the other protein treatments can cause.

How can you tell when your hair needs protein versus needing moisture?? Is it a guessing game?

By the way, you hair looks good. And if you are using the Eqyss line of products, I believe those are protein based. Oh yeah, and if my hair feels "hard" when wet, I know to go hard on a moisture DC.

Thank you for the compliment! :drunk: I have learned SO MUCH from the LHCF ladies. My hair is 100 times more healthy than it used to be. :yep:
