I love my bf, but I am going to kill him…. While he was out he called and wanted to know if there was anything I needed, so I said yes I need a bottle of EVOO. Well my love returns with “EXTAR VIRGIN OLIVE OIL & PURE SOYBEAN OIL” mix….

Now it’s bad enough he brought back the wrong item (even though as he puts it, IT’S ALL THE SAME), he proceeds to tell my how much cheaper it is and how it’s all the same… After rolling my eyes at him as hard as I could I began to read the ingredients which list the “SOYBEAN OIL” first….

Now from what I remember from nutrition class the first ingredients listed is always the highest amount in the product… So my question is this DOES IT MATTER? Can I still use this to seal my hair or should I go and kill him now?

p.s. Even though I was not happy with what he brought back I still kissed him and said thank you…

Use it. Then let us know how it turns out.

Seriously, if Carols Daughter can bottle and sell corn oil to black folks to put in their hair, i doubt your soy mix is any worse.

I dunno but I'd imagine it would be excellent added to a DC. There's soybean oil in a couple of my DC's.

Thank you ladies I will do just that.... I will use it and see what happens... You ladies have just saved a life... lol

Carol's Daughter does what?? I just found out that Jada Pinkett-Smith has a stake in their company...SMH

On the soybean: I would let my bf know that I appreciate the gesture but if I say I want M&M's peanut and you come back w/ M&M's almond, I won't be a happy camper.

plenty of oils and conditioners have soybean oil as an ingrediant. its no biggie, it prolly works better than just regular ole olive oil and for some reason i see it giving a really nice shine.

Carol's Daughter selling corn oil! I don't have a problem with that at all, just tell us that's what it is and don't OVERCHARGE acting like you found something amazing for hair! SHEESH! Anyway, soybean oil is great for skin and hair as a previous poster said. But I know what you mean, if I say I want a red one with white dots, don't bring me a white one with red dots!:lachen:

The oil he bought will work just as well. Sometimes I even use vegetable oil (soybean) in my hair when I run out of EVOO for treatments and ocassional shine.

Throw some in your conditioner too!
