I never thought I would do this but I washed, DC'd my hair last night and was too tired to sit back under the dryer so I just put it back in a low braid and tied it up.

I thought it would be dry by morning but it was damp. I remember reading about the flatironing on damp hair and how many did this. I decided to give it a try. I sectioned my hair, sprayed protectant, and began. I did not hear sizzling or anything but I DID see a lot of steam. After I did the first section I was surprised at how cool my hair was to the touch and light and feathery and moist too. So I continued.

When I was done I was like WOW! My hair looked the BOMB if I may say so myself. I got all kinds of compliments today at work and even a couple "Is that all your hair?"

Now will I do this everytime? Probably not but I was/am shocked at the results...definitely something I will be looking into more in terms of the effects on hair health. It may not be for everyone but...Anyway, the pic is in my siggy shot.

gurl that hair is BLINGIN" LOL It looks beautiful. On looks alone I"d say you should continue damp flat ironing... esp if your hair felt cool to the touch... when I flat iron my hair always gets so hot and it makes me a little nervous

I don't flat iron alot but when I do it will always be damp. Not wet...just a little damp. It keeps the hair cooler. And the hair looks healthier when I do it this way instead of 100% dry hair. Good job!

and all you put on it was heat protectant?

the skeptic in me just got a blow to the head...

Yes. I used Silk Elements which I really like BTW...

Now I rarely flatiron so I can't even say I'll do this again but you know how THAT goes...yeah I was a skeptic too.

Thank you ladies for the compliments...I appreciate ya!

Looks lovely! What type of flatiron did you use? I have a wet-to-dry and have been hesitant to try it....

I tried to flat iron using Nexxus heat protectant spray. It made my hair damp and the steam burned my scalp. I'll never try that again, but your hair looks nice!

Looks good
I tried this while using a wet to straight flat iron (Remington)
Had great results :D my hair went back curly when I washed it

Your hair looks great! It's actually a good idea I guess the steam helps to straighten it. I bet it's less damaging.
