Okay, I'll be the first to take it all back...."my beloved hair, you have made progress and I have not given you enough credit :hug3:"

* Top Left: This is a pic of my hair during my transition in 2006 (I had cut off the back down to 2 inches and cut a HUGE portion of the relaxed ends off in the front (you can still see the straight ends). My hair is maybe an inch longer than you can actually see in the pic...below NL but not quite SL

*Top Right: Jan 2007: I still have about an 1.5 of relaxed ends left at the tip (or it may have been scab hair, can't quite remember). My hair was a little belwo SL

*Bottom Left: Jan 2008: My hair is completely natural in this pic and freshly trimmed. It may have been about APL or an inch past

*Bottom Right: Jan 2009: My hair is still natural and is grazing BSL (not quite ready to claim it yet, maybe in April). It's much fuller and healthier than I could have ever imagined! I have a solid regimen and staples and a great support system thanks to you guys :luv2:

Sometimes, I have to sit back and reflect on how far I've come in my journey in order to appreciate what I have. I just wanted to share this...perhaps it'll be an inspiration to someone (who, like myself), takes for granted what they've accomplished thus far

You're hair beautiful...great texture. What's you're reggie?

Honestly, I have no "set-in-stone" regimen, I just adjust according to my hair's needs. But I consistently do the following:

-Wash every 3-5 days. I typically use a strengthening shampoo and a moisturizing shampoo (Joico K-Pak & Moisture Recovery shampoos, Ion Moisturizing Shampoo, or Follicure). I clarify as necessary or when my hair seems like it's stopped responding to products. I sometimes incorporate ayuvedic hair products as well, but not frequently. I also wash my hair in 4-6 plaits to keep the hair detangled because I often wash my hair in the sink and apply my conditioners afterwards.

-DC w/ multiple conditioners; there's typically a strengthening cond., a moisturizing cond, and any other remaining conditioner I haven't used up yet. (Joico K-Pak Reconstructor & Moisture Recovery Lines, + Lustrasilk Shea butter or Organics hair mayo, or Treseme Curl Moisture and Pantene R&N breakage mask). Sometimes I'll mix honey and EVOO with the conditioners as well. It just depends on what my hair is telling me it needs. I leave the DC in hair anywhere from 2hrs to overnight (if I'm being lazy), but its usually no more than 2. I rinse the conditioner out in the shower. I apply the conditioners replait my hair and rinse the cond. from my hair while in plaits. Some of the conditioner remains in between, providing a nice slip when I take them down to apply my leave ins

-I apply leave-ins. I've consistently used cantu shea butter leave in (both relaxed and natural. I may apply some Organics hair mayo as well or Parneavu. For the past couple of months I've been sealing my plaits with Vaseline which has worked WONDERS at keeping my ends from splitting :yep:

-Air-dry....except if I'm rollersetting.

That's pretty much it, not a complicated regimen at all and its the only thing I can remain consistent with for a long period of time

Great progress. This just reinforces that I need to take pictures so that I can actually see the progress.

Lovely thick hair. Yes, those pics can come in handy when you feel your hair has not grown. I am constantly snapping pics of my hair:) Its getting out of hand now:)

Your hair is beautiful. I regret that I did not take any pictures of my hair prior to LHCF. I did not realize their importance to track progress.

op your hair is beautiful, congrats on the progress! I want to see more pics
But I will post mine when I get some decent progress....some day

bump...any long term naturals want to share their pics?

I haven't worn my hair in anything near a fro since around the time I bc'd even then it was more a brushed out b/o - couldn't take the detangling sessions so now just do b/o or t/o
