Hi everyone,

So I am laying in bed here on a Saturday morning. I am trying to get myself pumped up to wash and DC my hair and then rollerset under my new Ion hard bonnet I got for Christmas...

Do you guys ever feel like damn I could be doing something else instead of messing with my hair? Like I could be post Christmas shopping or going to the movies or catching up with a friend or going back to sleep and taking a nap.

Is is ever hard to get yourself motivated to do all these processes to your hair or am I the only one?

You are not the only one i feel this way all the time, but i know it needs to be done and i will feel better afterwards so i go ahead and it get it done.

No, you are not the only one. I got an Ion Dryer for Christmas also. I did my thing at 7:00 this morning, I wanted to get it over with. Washed, DC, roller set hair and 50 minutes under dryer. It does get really hot on the high setting.

Yeah, I'd rather be something else, but I have a wedding to go to in a few hours and I don't wanna look jacked up. :lachen: Besides, I haven't DC'd and rollerset in a week and a half. My hair needs it. :yep:

Yes, but think of it like this: Women who go to the salon spend MORE time than we do...they have to drive there (wasting gas on the way), wait, sit under the dryer, wait some more, then PAY FOR IT. And at the end of the day, they probably can't do what their stylist did, so they know they have to go back again in two weeks.

I think we have it pretty good, relatively.

Im the same way..I got up this morning at 6 to wash and DC and boy did I have to drag myself out of the bed..I still wasnt pleased with the outcome,though..

So I am sitting here ya'll DCing with the heat cap on. And I am hungry... But I don't have any food to eat unless i run out... Drats!!... And I still gotta rollerset... I finally got out of bed about an hour and a half ago. :wallbash:

I multitask. I work on my hustles that involve the computer while I sit under my pibbs. So in essence, I'm making money and doing my hair at the same time.

OMG yes, it's a all day process for me... I'm experimenting w/ different techniques like DC on dry hair, in order to shorten the time on wash days so I can do other things...

So did I officially finish?... No not really. :wallbash:

I did my rollerset and was under the dryer forever. My ends did not dry, so I took the rollers out and have my hair in a ponytail. So needless to stay my hair still looks so so... All that time to have it not turn out... Doe! :nono:

Yes that's why I'm not touching my hair till the end of Jan. Wash, dc, moisturise, cornway and spritz while cornrowing so I can comb thru this 4abcdefg mess. No I don't feel like doing that right now. My hair is in cornrows and I'm wigging it for the month. I shall be trimming split ends too.

I have the opposite problem, no matter where I am or what I'm doing... most likely I am probably thinking to myself "I wish I was home deep conditioning my hair" LOL I love doing my hair

It's the rollersetting that gets to me....It takes so much time! I hate to sit under the dryer, but as long as I'm on the computer, it helps...

It's not so much that I hate doing my hair, because I love touching it and running my fingers through it!! What I hate is sitting under the dryer (I have the pink ION hard bonnet too)...i just hate sitting under hair dryers, it would take me at least 1 1/2 hours to dry and it probably won't even be dry all the way (I purposely scoot to the front of the dryer hoping it won't burn as much...)

This is me! I'm an academic so there is always an article I need to research or write while I am under the dryer.

I have ZERO patience for sitting under the dryer. In my BF (before Forum) days I would wash, blowdry, bump, and go--40 min max. But now It takes me more like 2 hours!! And I don't rollerset. I can't even imagine how much longer that would take. Geesh! But I sacrificed all of my direct heat so I can have BSL hair. I just keep telling myself it will be worth it.

My stylist spends about 1 hour and 45 minutes doing my hair; that is, if he's not working on anyone else. This gives me time to do my homework or read assignments, so the time is well worth it, well spent and it's not long. I get this stuff and other important matters done early. If I have to wait longer, then I don't complain. This gives me more time to do what I need to do. It's all brought into the salon, because I never know how long I may be there.

It takes me five to six hours to do my hair--wash, deep condition, detangle, air dry in front of fan:lachen:, and press. I could be doing more important things.

yes thats why I don't style my hair too often it takes sooo much time after washing cond, etc. I don't feel like doing anything but slapping it into a ponytail.

:lachen::lachen: Doing my hair is my one guilty pleasure. I actually look forward to it. I try to keep it simple though so I co-wash often,Dc not too often, no heat, no rollersets, just wash seal and go. If I have a little extra time, I'll do a tea rinse.
