I went to sallys eariler today and I saw this for the first time. You get a pretty big sized bottle of it for a little over 8 bucks. I put some in my hand and it smells and feels just like the chi one. I might try it to compare.

Please do! I need to save money wherever possible.

I have never used the original formulation by Chi but I did try the GVP version last week and I really liked it. My hair felt like silk and it had a nice shine after I flat ironed the front of my hair. I’m transitioning and wearing half wigs for the moment. It made my non relaxed hair feel silky and it gave it shine so I was impressed. I still want to use the Original Silk Infusion so that I can compare the two. The GVP Biosilk formulation received really good reviews on Sally’s website. I want to try that one also.

I used it when I pin curled after flat ironing a few months ago.I liked it alot but its collecting dust now.I may have to dig out.

What's the name of it? I have the original, and I know I won't be able to afford another bottle anytime soon...

can anyone post a pick? i'll be on my way to sally's bright and early tomorrow morning
to pick some up

I posted pics of my flat ironed hair after I used the GVP version in my fotki. I hope this helps. My password is in my profile.

I have the pink "Breast Cancer Awareness" one. I had it for about a year when one day it just went kaput! Silly me, I didn't get the optional insurance that Sally offers.

Prior to that it did a beautiful job. I swore by it. I actually liked it better that the real CHI because it has a temp. dial which the CHI doesn't. I'd definitely recommend it, just get the insurance.

We are not talking about flat irons:lachen:

I have the little tiny version of the real stuff, which I like. But I use the GVP version more, just because it is a bigger bottle and more bang for your buck so to speak. The ingredients are identical except for like one thing. I say try it. I think most people would like it just as well.

Ion makes a silk treatment serum too. I like that one too and that is a good value as well. It is in a bottle about half the size of the GVP version, but still at a reasonable price. Options girls!... Haha... :yep:

Well I hope to hear some good revies b/c I'm using the chi like it's water.
I love that stuff...no really I do

i now have both the chi si & gvp and i cant really tell them apart. the only difference i noticed was the smell. Gvp si doesnt have that overpowering manly smell

I seen this last week at Sally's and was surprised it hasn't been mentioned on here. I didn't buy it. It seems to be a different color than the original.

I have it and I have used the original by CHI and it is EXACTLY the same or at least it works exactly the same on my hair! I love it and I will never purchase the CHI brand again...I use it when I straighten my hair and it gives it extra extra bling!! You only need a really small amount...Like I do my hair in 3 sections basically (the front and the two sides)....before flat ironing each section I rub in about a dime sized amount on the back and about 1/2 of that on the sides...try it!!

I liked it too! I wasn't too fond of the smell at first but once I saw how blingy My hair was I forgot all about the smell. I bought it last month and used it 4-5 times and I still haven't put a dent in the bottle! A little goes a long way.

I bought it a few weeks ago but I'm not flat ironing my hair until mid-March...I like the smell of it....reminds me of scrumptious menfolk :)

^^^^LOL!! I just bought a bottle on this week. I put some on my hair after a co-wash and tied my hair down with a scarf so that it would hair dry overnight. My hair didn't look as dull as it usually does! (Oh, and I've never used the original Chi, so I really can't compare. :-) )

I just bought it tonight. I did a Caruso set when I got home.I have never used the chi silk infusion but this GVP stuff is A-MA-ZING:trampolin. I ran a VERY small amount through my hair before I put in the rollers. When I took the rollers out I was like:yahoo:because my hair had so much shine, body and bounciness...it was unreal! This is a keeper!!:yep:
