4 year update: 4a Transition

Here's the last pic I took of my hair about 4 years ago when I was transitioning. I had already cut off several inches of relaxed hair and still had an inch or two left in this pic. I was wearing a braid-out. This was the shortest my hair has ever been.








Here's me last week all natural but flat-ironed straight. This is the longest my hair has been as an adult. When I was relaxed I would experience breakage barely past shoulder length.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I remember when I decided to transistion I felt inspired by pictures of posters on LHCF who had successfully transitioned. I figured I should pay my debt to LHCF

It's embarrassing because I don't really have one. I wash once a week (cream of nature usually) and use conditioner (Suave) to detangle. I alternate between braidouts and buns using scarves, clips, headbands etc. to keep it interesting. Once every few months I flat iron so I can trim or just for the heck of it. I do recommend caring for the ends better which is something I don't do. I had to cut about an inch off after that pic due to split ends. I don't mind sacrificing an inch for a low maintenance regimen though since the goal of my transition was a healthy hair and scalp rather than length.
