Well, I got my hair straightened and my ends clipped today...(I'm six months into my transitioning process) and the beautician said she gave me a moisturing conditioner....I was like not protein ...and she was like no you need moisture to make your hair soft....and I was like what do you recommend I use and she was like mizani the hydrafuse or the moisture fuse....she said it would restore the keratin and something else....I picked up the moisture fuse today .....also....I've been braiding my hair for the past two months and she said I would not have lost so much if I would have kept it straightened...she said it breaks more with two textures.... :look:

Silk Elements Megasilk Moisturizing Treatment
Motions Moisture Plus
Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner
Keracare Humecto

the only thing about the mizani is it has one paraben and one cone in its ingredients list.......(chemicals such as these are why I decided to transition in the first place) so I got the small bottle of the moisture fuse, i may also pick up the hydrafuse anyway.....

Sally's GVP Conditioning Balm and Kenra MC are GREEEEAAAAT dc's!!!! No cones, just moisture :D

Dove Intense Moisture Conditioner (I love this stuff--leaves my hair so silky).

I'm new to this board so I can't say what you SHOULD use, I'm just gonna suggest what you shouldn't use...and that's mizani moisture fuse. I used evoo in my head as a pre poo this weekend (oiled my scalp and let it sit in overnight), then I washed it out using Mizani shampoo and conditioner (moisturefuse), and my hair was just as dry and brittle as it was in the beginning

Welcome. :) Thanks for the input. Sometimes knowing what not to use is just as important as finding products that do work.

Joico Kpak Intense Hydrator
Mizani Thermasmooth Conditioner

ETA: I believe your stylist recommended a great product Mizani Moisturefuse. You should try that first and if your not please then try the other recommended suggestions.

I haven't tried the Moisturefuse. However, I read the review thread and the pj in me is kickin in!

I like HairVeda Sitrinillah Masque a lot. For one that you can buy in store, try Aubrey Organics' Honeysuckle and Rose.

I always thought that was the worst way to transition, with heat. I am transitioning and I do use heat but I thought I was doing something bad. That's interesting...

What does GVP stand for?

ITS THE GENERIC LINE BY SALLYS THEY HAVE ALL THE MAJOR BRANDS BOOTLEG....LOL NO THE INGREDIANS ARE THE SAME AND COMPAIRED IN THE BACK I WILL NEVER PAY 14 BUCKS FOR COND. AGAIN:nono: THEY HAVE PAUL MITCHELL,JOICO,REDKEN,NEXXUS ECT TRY THEM

I said that too her...but she didn't follow up with anything significant....

I recently discovered and fell in love with:

Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner

Another plus about this conditioner is that they don't test on animals.:yep:

Verifen Complex Advanced Conditioning Treatment :dance7: -- Must I say more! I don't think so. :nono:

Okay . . . Motions Moisture Plus and Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose--add oil(s)

If you want to give your moisturizing conditioner a kick add about a tbsp of avocado oil and tsp of castor oil and then DC with heat. I personally like to add this to ORS Replenishing. I don't like the ORS by itself but love it with this. :lick:

$3!!! I'll have to look into this.:yep:

Here are the ingredients:
Purified water, organic rosemary oil, organic valencia orange citrus, organic mango, organic lemongrass, organic ginko biloba, organic echinacea, organic willow bark, organic sea kelp, organic chamomile flower, organic textured soy protein, organic lavender, organic grapefruit citrus, Tocopherol (Vit E), Acetamide MEA, Cetyl Alcohol, Citric Acid, Methylparaben, propylparaben, botanical fragrance

Thanks . . . the ingredients look healthy.:spinning:

Giovanni Smooth as Silk conditioner (rinse-out condish, but I use a bit as a leave-in as well. Makes my hair feel silky soft :D).
Aubrey Organics conditioners (I use it as a DC. Very rich and moisturizing).
Giovanni Nutrifix Reconstructor (has a bit of protein in it, but mostly moisturizing. To me it's a bit lighter than AO is, but it's still very good).
Aussie Moist Line-Very good stuff and reasonably priced :yep:.

Trader Joes Nourish Spa is a great moisturing conditioner for $3. Don't sleep on it like I did.

Aw man! I wish we had a Trader Joes here in South Florida. 3 dollars sounds very good. Whole Foods has a cheapie condish that I used to use, but it didn't leave my hair feeling very moisturized. How many ounces do you get for $3?
