I made an appointment to get my hair pressed on Wednesday:yay:, and I'm so excited! Anyway, I've been thinking about how I'd like to get it styled after I get it pressed. My SO suggested I get it done similar to Keesha Sharp from Girlfriends.

How long do you guys think my hair would have to be to look exactly like this curled? Do you think this is achieved by just making curls with a jumbo curling iron. I wonder how long the curls with last if I get it done xmas eve because I'm trying to wear it like this on xmas. I'm planning to take my SMB with me (just got it in the mail). How would I maintain the curls?

I know I went a lil overboard with the pics, but I love her hair! It's my dream hair.

Hmm, that's a good question. I'd guess it should be somewhere between BSL and MBL.
And I really like her hair too!

I think that hair would be MBL if it was straight so you should be able to do this style. I wouldn't use a culing iron. Why not just rollers or pin curls? I think the key to this look is volume and a bit of messiness. You would probably need to flip your head over after it is curled and fluff itup from the roots.

But I am no expert on straight hair...

Thanks! I was just wondering if it would come out looking like a curly fro if I wasn't at a certain length. I know curls make your hair look shorter esp. natural hair.

This was my hair at APL, and it was SL lightly curled. I guess I'll just wait until MBL to get it to look exactly like that. I just love it!

Oooohh, pretty!
It's going to look great no matter what! Can't wait to see the pics!

Since I'm getting it pressed, could I put rollers on dry hair and it be effective? I didn't know you could do that. Thanks! I can't do pin curls to save my life...shame shame.

It looks like she wears one of those U shaped weaves/wigs... where she leaves out the crown and front of her hair but everything else is weaved up...

I like the fullness of her hair... if you rock it...
you gotta own it...
not everybody can pull off the big hair.
Her hair is sometimes hit or miss for me...
I didn't appreciate it at first, but at least she's consistent.

I do think she is natural and just roller sets & flat irons her
hair that isn't braided up under the wig/weave

I think it is all about her cut. If you do a rollerset and you don't have a nice cut, you will jsut look like Grandma instead of having that layered romantic sexy look that she has....

As far as her hair being real, I grew up with a chick who had hair just like hers. It was long and thick. She was natural and just had like a soft press...so it is possiable it is her hair but you never know these days.

Shoot. If that's the case, I am definitely not going for it. I don't like layers in my hair.

You don't have to get layers. You can set your hair wit different sized rollers to get a layered look. Smaller ones on the top and bigger ones on the bottom.

Oh ok..that make sense. I've been thinking about getting carusos too. So, this is just in time. Thanks!!

When you go get your hair done, make sure she is use a termal curling iron, old fashion with the stove, let her pick them out, when you go to sleep..take the curls and pin them down and when you get up christmas they will be looser.....
