I know there are many relaxer threads, but I wanted to narrow down my choices
..plus the search is malfunctioning!

Thanks! so much, I'm getting equaling positive and negative reviews about both, so it is difficult to choose, I appreciate this!Well I used to Mizani about 2 years ago and I felt that it let my edges kinda rough. I just started using Affrim and I like it but I heard alot of people say it thins your out.. I had so much swing afterwards and it so was sooo straight but not overprecessed.. I used the no lye but im actually gonna try a lye relaxer next and Im thinking of trying the Affrim Fibergaurd or Silk Elements
Whoa! I don't need anything thinning out my hair, I've read that Fiberguard underprocesses hair...which is what I want, but I am pretty sure my hair is resistant( I know this because when I wa 13 my mother relaxed my hair from root to tip for 3 times, and it was still super thick)..so I am hesistant also, how long do you keep Affirm Fiberguard in your hair.I use Affirm Fiberguard Lye and love it. Its never burned me and leaves my hair strong. It isn't too strong and doesn't dry my hair out. My past experiences with Mizani Lye and No Lye was that it was way too strong and left my scalp glued to my head. My hair wouldn't hold moisture either. For whatever reason I managed to gain length, but it thinned my hair really bad.
Thanks! This really helps, so now I thinking about doing a test strand with the regular for about 15min.Oneya
I use the Resistant strength myself and it still doesnt relax me bone straight. I would say that it leaves me about 85-90% processed after 18minutes. I've been using it since last April with consistent results. I haven't experienced any shedding, thinning or breakage either.
My play sister was using Affirm Sensitive Scalp NoLye and it really straigthened well, but dried her out overtime. When I used this same relaxer it burned me, but I liked it otherwise and I didn't experience any other ill effects.
Now that will be interesting! I would love to hear, I saw some great reviews about the Butter Blends.Tomorrow I will be doing a virgin relaxer with the entire Mizani Butter Blends Mild system. Got awesome reviews about it. I will let you all know how it turns out.![]()
I can tell it's working, pretty hair!always mizani
The butter blends seem very popular, thanks so much!mizani here
affirm sensitive scalp left me very underprocessed (not in a good texlaxed kinda way) and my hair was very dry. i had so much breakage that i am still recovering.
i now texlax with mizani no lye reg. and my hair is thick and thriving. mizani is coming out (or maybe already has come out) with a no lye butter blends formula and that's what i will be using the next time i texlax.
for some reason I've grown fearful of phyto, I remember some thread about i, but I'm glad you mentioned it, the ingredients in phyto seem pretty good, I'll check out some reviews!Neither...I haven't tried these two personally, but friends of mine have and they're always having some issue with their hair like dryness and breakage...idk, it could be other reasons...I love phyto-specific mild formula...i did a big chop a year ago jumping on the "all natural train", but didn't like how i looked with natural hair and decided to relax. I've only used phyto and its the best. My hairs is healthy with no breakage and i can do curly wash-n-go's no problem...
