Baking Soda washes are the truth!!!!!!!!

Oh, I love baking soda except I use it in my conditioner instead for my co washes.

So i just tried the BS (my hair is still wet) and it's great.

I did a co/wash so i slathered my conditioner all over my hair, then i got 2 tablespoons of BS then mixed it with a bit of water and my conditioner to make a paste and left it on my scalp for a few mins before washing it all out.

My hair feels clean and my hair is soft, i thought it would feel dry. I don't even know why we use shampoo when we have BS.

I will definately give it another go, i think i will add it to my co/washing regime.

Yeah, there really is no need for shampoo when you have bs. The pj in me just can't give up my poo though.

People usually use the ACV rinse to balance out the baking soda because using the baking soda a lot will start to lighten your hair. (which I wouldn't mind)

But... How many times a week/month should I use the baking soda? I don't want to over do it. I usually cowash everyother day so I 'm trying to see where I can fit this in.

I tried this today too. I slept with MegaTek on my hair with a shower cap on so since I've done that 3x this week I decided to cowash it out and then rinse with a handful of baking soda and warm water.

I don't know if it's the henna I used last month or what but my texture is much softer now and it was a breeze to detangle.

I usually have to take a seat to detangle my naps but I was able to quickly run my comb through and braid it up and go on with my life.

I may try this every 2-3 weeks or so.

Yeah rinsing with ACV is suppose to create a neutral balance so it will prevent lighting your hair. I read it in an article a while ago about washing hair with baking soda.

I've been using baking soda as my shampoo since I started on this board, it was the first tip I tried.

I usually mix 1 palmful of BS in a with about 16oz of warm water in a water bottle. I started of with way less (like a few tablespoons) and worked up to where I am now. It all depends on your hair.

Baking soda gets my scalp really clean and gets rid of all the build up on my hair without stripping it completely. My hair always feels soft afterward before I put anything else on it.

Yes you can be Nosey! I have a Housecleaning Service and I make all of my Natural Cleaning Products, Baking Soda is One that I use so 12 Pounds for $6.00, and it will last me awhile. I have Clients with small kids and family members with Breathing Problems & Pets and they don't want Harsh Fumes etc.

Hope you don't mind if I answer also. I have the 12lb bag too. Got it from Sam's Club. I love Baking soda. I use it to clean and deodorize my house, add to clothes detergent, exfoliate my whole body. I never used it on my hair though bc I thought it would be too drying. Now I'm going to try it.
