I'm wondering and if so how did it work for defining your curls? Was it greasy - which I've heard her products can be - is there another product that you like better or equally?

I didn't vote because I haven't actually tried it. . .but my good friend call me last week with a review. SHE HATED IT. She said she had so much build up that it looked like she had a bad case of dandruff.

She loves the MJ Buttercreams & Curly Pudding and uses them all religiously. So she has nothing against MJ. She loves their products. . .but she HATED the build up the meringue left on her hair.

I used the meringue. It smelled so good DH was all up on me!:lick: But it did NOTHING for my curls. I was quite pissed because I had read all the hype and had high expectations.:ohwell: After trying several things (ISO Bouncy, John Freida Dream Curls, Noodlehead, MJ) I went back to Aveda Be Curly and I get bangin' curls! Smells good, too!

I've used it in the past and it worked well for smoothing my curls and making them pop but the newest formulation contains a ton of mineral oil and is too greasy. I stopped using the pudding because of the buildup/greasiness from the mineral oil and now I've had to give up the meringue too!

Yeah I used it and liked it. It left my hair soft but held up, but I had a bit of shrinkage cause it doesn't give the same hold as the pudding obviously, but I knew that and didn't mind. I use it in the summer still.

Yes ma'am I love it. It really made my curls pop. It went a long way too. All I had to do was mist with water and add baby butter creme to refresh the curls in my old wash & go. I plan on using it often when my hair grows back out.

I used it when my hair was natural and I liked it. It did not leave any buildup on my hair. I used it the same way I used the Curly Pudding, but only on areas where my texture did not have much curl. I'd scrunch the hair after applying it, to encourage curls. It dried hard, but would soften up after scrunching again when the hair was dry.

I've used the Curly Meringue but, like some of the other ladies have said, it did leave a lot of build up. The Curly Pudding works best for me.

I've used it but maybe my expactions were too high. It didn't impress me that much and give me the look I was going for. The curls were hard, but my hair did have a nice shine to it. I still may try the curly pudding one day though.

I have no curls, so I wouldn't use this for that. Has anybody used this on twists, or is it better to just use the buttercreme?

This is the only Miss Jessie product that worked for me (although I'm thinking about revisiting the buttercreme for my twists). It really defines my curls and the hold is very good.

ETA: I have not tried the new version with the mineral oil.

I've got it in my hair now. I've used it on twists and it worked okay.
OK, thanks. I was wondering. If I do the BOGO with them, I was thinking of having the Meringue as my free product.

nope but i used the silkener
How did that work out for you?

Yeah, I see that they changed the formula. They always have to go and change something good.

I have for a braid out. Didn't work for me for washing and going or fingerstyling.
I have yet to find anything that works well for me with wash n go, once my hair is past a couple of inches long.

^^

wash and goes, kccc hands down. i like miss jessies but NOTHING i mean NOTHING works like my beloved kccc. i wonder why the hell i use other stuff sometimes. oh yeah, im the PJ ambassador as eisani told me lol:blush:

Uh, scratch my previous post. I tried the new formula last weekend and was not impressed. Why did they change the formula? :nono: I got the BOGO, mid size for $22. There is no way I can utilize 2 containers of this stuff. I'm going to give it one more try and if it doesn't work, for sale it goes.

i agree! Meringue is okay, but KCCC is the truth, PERIOD!!!!

YEs I used it for the first year I was natural!!!...It left a build up!!1...I did not like it!!!
it is over priced!!!!....
Miko, from Miss Jessie's Hair salon did my hair for three years!!!....they were Way over priced ...I spent at least 450.00...a visit every couple of months!!!....there are better and cheaper hair products out there!!!!!

i love this stuff. its wayyyyyy better than the curl pudding which makes my hair hard. i just did the big chop so i have a twa and most things had me walking around with crunchy hair but i put this on soaking wet hair and when it dried it was so soft.
when i get money i will repurchase.
