Ok so i finally washed my hair with baking soda about an hour ago...i must admit i used half the box:yep:....i kept mixing a handful with warm water in a cup:drunk:,but I had no problems with dryness, since i put a thick condish on afterwards....the comb slipped thru my hair with no detangles,im 6wks post...I also had minimal shedding...my hair is soooooo soft and feels extra light...i will update once it is dry:yep:

Baking soda is a staple for me. It's great at removing build up!

Don't forget to follow with an ACV rinse!

I use it and love it!!! I only use about 3 tablespoons in water and my hair loves it.
*I have never done a ACV rinse.*

isnt it the best:grin:...Ive used ACV it and it doesnt compare:ohwell:...I was told to use ACV after using the baking soda...I will try that next time and see how it goes:yep:

So are you using this to clarify your hair? Do you just massage it into your scalp as you would a shampoo?

Yes,as a clarifier....I just poured the mixture over my head in the shower, rinsed, then repeated 3x's..never massaging, only bcuz I didnt want any tangles...not sure if some other ladies massage, maybe they can chime in:yep:

Yup i used baking soda and a light conditioner today, left it on for like 5 minutes, scrubbed my scalp and it worked great! btw, i didn't use the acv after

I tried this the other week and it worked great. I might give up shampoo all together.
Oh...and I did not use ACV after either.

I don't think I have much build-up since I only use MT/OCT and butters for moisturizing and oil to seal. I co-wash every night. I use a little clear protein gel to slick my edges down. I have been doing this for a week (once Wednesday and last night). I did notice my hair was a little softer so I will do this since I'm not shampooing anymore.

I also love baking soda. It definitely softens and clarifies really well in a low-poo or no-poo routine. OP, baking soda is very alkaline (like a mild relaxer) so I don't know if using so much will be safe for your hair in the long term.

Do you ladies do the baking soda wash every time you all wash your hair? After you all wash your hair with the Baking soda, you all follow up with a DC right?
TIA

I used to use it a lot when I was relaxed to help detangle. Thanks for this post..reminds me how good it was/is. I"ll add it to my regimen.

So what would ACV do after the baking soda mix? Been wondering this for a while now, people always suggest using ACV after baking soda. I love the benefits of BS, but never did ACV after it...

I would like to know too. I use BS as a face scrub and was told in order to balance the PH use ACV aftewards. Maybe it is the same with hair???

I usually add some to my shampoo or conditioner for co-washes and I love it, it's like a fresh new head of hair when I get done.
