i used to use this in 2005 when i had constant braids, braided by my nigerian friends. i had to do my braids monthly because it grew out so...fast (i guess thats how they make more money:lachen:selling the product to customers so we come back more often!

Disregard, I guess it's used on the scalp.

I started using this product about 3 weeks ago, since then my hair has thickened up a whole lot and I have about 1/2 inch of newgrowth. I also have scalp problems such as dry itchy scalp and dandruff, and these issues are non-existant since I've been using Virgin Hair Fertilizer. The smell is really strong, but I love the way it makes my scalp feel and conditions my hair, it makes it really shiny. They sell it at the Beauty Supply in my neighborhood for $5.99 I was planning on posting pics of my growth in December.

At my BSS it was in the glass case, I guess people steal them. So check the glass cases when you go to the BSS.

Yep~ and sometimes you find them near the African Hair and Skin products...like the black soap and stuff like that....I'm still using and having great results, I am on my second tube and going strong...i look forward to using it EVERY night! Faithfully.

well... sulfur products dont do anything but cause buildup in my head. mixed w/ petrolatum, no thanks

I got this review from Amazon...I think 4 people reviewed it and gave it 4 or 5 stars, but this one person gave it one star and said....

"1.0 out of 5 stars I had an aweful time with this product..., October 18, 2007

As I sit typing this review, my hair is a greasy, filthy, oil-slick of a mess. I bought this product thinking it would do what it advertised, "condition broken and dry hair." Instead, it's been a nightmare.

I have washed my hair 7 times without any progress in removing it. Now, I have sent a family member to the store for cornstarch, clarifying shampoo, coke, vinegar, eggs and some peanut butter in my 8th attempt to correct it.

So, before you try this product consider these things...the ingredients printed on the package: herbal extract, petroleum jelly, peppermint oil, lanolin and fragrance.

About the fragrance (as it soaks into my bloodstream), has made me dizzy and nauseous for hours now, and has stunk up the apartment. It smells like chemicals used to tar roads, lubricate car parts, or what's produced from oil drilling. Hair dye fumes are nothing compared to this toxic waste of a product.

One last bonus, their website-also printed on the package-is a porn site. For customer service, I can call Nigeria (lol sorry but this sentence cracked me up lol)."

lol dont listen to them! it worked so well, they wanna keep people away from it! more for themselves!:lachen:

I enjoy using my mix. It feels awesome and I haven't used it in a week, because i had my hair in a bun and wasn't touching it, trying to do a protective, no manipulation style...but i will get back to it this week, trust.

The product is good, no doubt about it, but if you have reservations, there are many others that will work for you.
And yes, people have been using these products for years that contain petroleum jelly in them and most of them have waistlength, healthy hair , so...I mean, people used animal fat back in the day to get the hair of their dreams, and guess what, i bet many of them still do. To each her own.

That's why the internet is so awesome, research the product(s) and make up your own mind. The advice of others can be disputed or confirmed, but do it (try it) for yourself, you could be missing out on the one thing that does the thing for your hair....

ive used this before and i have to saw my hair very fast, i used it to grease my scalp under a sew in and when i took it out all my bald spots had grown and so had my temples!!

Anymore reviews of the product? I'm thinking of mixing my vhf with oil to apply it from a pointy-nosed bottle...i'm trying not to handle my hair and that will make it easier to apply...i've been slipping since i've been wash-n-go bunning my hair, and i want to get back to this....

:bump: I was going through my PJ graveyard and I ran across my tube of VHF. Anyone still using this? I'm thinking about trying it again.

I applied this to my scalp last night. I mixed it with a little Sulfur 8 lite and I must say I really liked the tingle. I had I couple of hair bumps (they were really sore) but when I woke up the were gone. I haven't put grease on my scalp in months but may continue this mix and see how it works for me.

Still no pictures? It's difficult to consider a product when no one has posted pictures or any other information to solidify that it works. The ingredients so far aren't enough for me personally to try this product on my hair....I'll keep checking back though...

^ i think you need "this thread is useless without pictures" smiley. LOL!

It's amazing how well this product feels on the scalp. i was getting some nice growth, however, i didn't have a digicam to check progress properly, and i've been cutting my transitioning hair almost every month, but the good news, it keeps growing right back, really quickly. i need to stick to one product, because i've been a pj, so many things have worked. i must say this, my hair is much thicker and healthier, it feels good to the touch. Now, i don't know how many of you are familiar with Dominican stylists, but if they say something works, you can pretty much believe they aren't foolin'. My stylist recommended this product for thicker, longer hair fast.

it's only $8 bucks, so you won't be out alot of money, it definitely didn't make my hair fall out or clog my pores.

^^^ i agree, if they told you everything they put in the product, why would you buy it? They know about us mixologists, they are not falling for that one. i think whoever uses it will be pleasantly surprised, i'll put money on that. remember, you only need a tiny amount, i'm heavy-handed and od on everything, so i had to learn to cut back.
