I used this for the first time yesterday and I would just like to say that I will NEVER do another rollerset without it. It made my rollerset faster, I lost a minimal amount of hair and it smoothed down my cuticles or something because running my fingers through my hair now I have no tangles, snarles and no, to use a term from another thread, "velcro ends". Did I mention minimal hair loss? Thats all I wanted to say.

Eta: also, I'm about 5 weeks post relaxer and my hair has MOVEMENT. My edges are magically smoothed, as well as the hair along my side part. Of course, my crown is still a jungle, but I wasn't expecting a miracle. Plus, you really only have to use about a dime sized amount so this bottle will probably last FOREVER.

Can you tell me exactly how you used it to do your rollerset (e.g. did you use another setting loition or mix it with anything, etc.)?

I deep conditioned with honey suckle rose, rinse out and detangled under the shower. then i took about a nickle sized amount of hsr and put it back into my hair, maybe bigger then a nickle. Then I took a dime sized amount of the silken seal and rubbed it all over running my finger through my hair to get it all over. Then I took like a pea sized, maybe smaller? amount and ran it through my roots and edges. It felt odd when I put it in and I thought I put to much. It felt kinda gunky and I thought my hair was gonna look funny. When I took out those rollers and my hair was dry, my hair was sooooooooo much and soft. Normally when I brush/comb out my rollerset I lose a lot of hair. This time only a few strands came out.

gonna buy this this weekend as i am planning on doing a rollerset. i usually blow dry and flat ironed but have decided to start back rollersetting.

My stylist & I used the spray kind - clear liquid in a clear bottle. When we (sometimes he did my sets, sometimes I did my own) would do a rollerset on my hair we would spray it on throughout the hair while wet b4 any setting lotion or anything. Then after it was dry & the rollers were out, he would lightly mist it w/the Silk N Seal again. It would make my hair so soft & it never weighed it down. I would use the Silk N Seal daily like regular oil sheen & it was great. Hmm... wonder would it work the same on my natural hair when it's pressed.

Hello Ladies,

I have been natural for 13 months and boy oh boy is my hair thick. Natural hair takes some getting use to but wouldn't trade it for the world. I used the Silken Seal on today after washing and deep conditioning my hair preparing to blow dry. This Silken Seal is heaven in a bottle when used before blow drying your hair. I'm not sure about flat ironing but I guess any heat styling it would protect. My hair felt soft, moveable and I could run my hands through it.

I think I have found one of my staple products as well as Carols Daughter (Healthy Hair Butter),(Hair Smoothie) Mixed Chicks (Deep Conditioner)and Kinky Curly Knot Today as my leave -in

I hope this helps someone, have a great day
