Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

would you be okay with walking around sporting your natural hair with pride?

:)

Absolutely, I was natural three times in my life (from birth to age twelve, then in my twenties, then in my thirties) and there was plenty of relaxers and hot combs available. I relax right now because of my lifestyle and for no other reason and may certainly go back to being natural once again if I get the itch in the future.

I was natural for the first 28 years of my life and I did alright. Now tho, I think I would probably rock cornrows if I were to go natural. I would still continue to practice good hair care but I would prefer to have a low-mani style.

Ditto. On whim, I shaved my head in middle school and went natural for a while after being relaxed since I was 7. My mother has been natural since the 70's and my parents never ever stressed hair. I didn't know people had such issues with natural hair until I was in high school bout to go to college. If there were no relaxer then I guess I would be two strand twisting it up.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

^Ditto. I've been natural twice and it was all good.

Pride comes from within in my honest opinion and when you're comfortable in your skin it doesn't matter whether you're relaxed or natural. :yep:

I would rock my natural hair. I was natural when I first got to the board. The only thing though is that I would dye my natural hair. I just think my 4b hair would look nice with some color. and the only way I'm going to dye it is if I'm natural.

That is one of the reasons I might transition, so I can dye the crap out of my hair

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

Definitely. I was natural until i graduated high school, and twice since then. I just relaxed again in April 08

I agree. I just relaxed my hair in March after being natural for 2 years. Right now I'm enjoying my hair as is but I'm sure I'll be natural again in the future.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

I guess I would have no choice. I would throw on my LF every now and then to give me a chage.... I dont like dealing with my hair, its fragile....

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

I wouldnt' have a choice:lachen:Seriously, I would be comfy. I look just like my mom and she rocked the who haa outta her natural hair. I remember one time, after taking my hair down from having micros. My hair was a huge afro, I tied a scarf around the front of my hair to make a head band. My dad walked past my room and he did a double take..He said, You look just like your mama with your hair like that:grin: So I would not mind. My mom had a huge red afro:grin: and she was on point:yep:

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

sure. would have no problem at all.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

lol, no Flat Iron???

Of course i would. I look fly no matter what style i wear. Its about presence and how you carry yourself. My natural do's would be too cute. :D

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

Absolutely!!!!I would wear my glorious natural mane and the world better be ready cuz I get a BIG beautiful afro!!!

I was natural before and always got a lot of compliments and I love my hair's texture...
besides I hate messing with my hair everyday, back then I would just wet it, put some leave-in on the ends and roll out!!!

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

I would have a freakin heart attack. I haven't been natural since I was 4 years old so I don't know what my hair would look like. I like my hair silky straight. I would go crazy especially without a flat iron.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

Absolutely. I've done it before and I'd do it again.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

Not a problem! I have been adult natural for nearly a decade now. And when I don't press my hair, I. proudly wear my hair in its natural state.
Wow... wouldn't that be something if black women were forced to wear their hair natural.... Maybe our new first lady could start a natural hair revolution! :lachen:

Yes, as I have done off and on all my life. If I wanted it straight, I could rollerset it and when humidity got to it, I would just deal(like I have done).

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

no..i was natural for 4 years and hated it.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

No way!

I've never worn wigs but if that happened that would be the time to start

I have nothing against natural hair but I don't think it suits me. Maybe if I was one of

the 3 hair types then yes, infact if I had a 3 type I would be a natural!

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

Yes:yep: Bookmarking this thread for later:look:

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

No. I really don't think natural hair would suit me.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

I'd be cool with it, I would probly cut it down to a TWA and just let it grow.
