I believe around April, I will get a relaxer however are there any articles, foktis and advice you all could post, that I can add on to my collection, I would really appreciate it.From now until April it will give my the tools to do this correctly.
I have so many questions, like if I should self relax or go to the salon.

It would also help if you all could tell me which relaxers you use and which to stay away from.

I really need some help since this is a huge decision for me, I thought I could get some help here.

I don't have much advice since i've only recently went back to the creamy crack :lachen: But I will offer:

Make sure this is what you really want to do
If you decide to self relax, practice a few times using conditioner and time yourself.
Do a strand test on a few different strands of hair that represent the various textures you have
Good luck

Since you relaxed do you spend less time on your hair, that is my main goal.
I spend too much time daily doing my hair.

If you are unsure about self relaxing, don't hesitate to get a friend to help, or to go to the salon. I used to self relax, but I think I would overlap, causing breakage. So now I go to a stylist that I work with (She's BSB, so I feel safe in her hands, LOL) for my relaxers.

Well, I could spend less time but now that i've texlaxed it's made it easier to do my dc's and other treatments so now I do those more frequently. I won't say I spend less time now but it's much less hassle. The surprising thing to me though is that even though i've texlaxed my hair is still bushy/thick when it airdry's especially once that new growth starts kicking in :yep:

Thanks for those recommendations, I've heard alot about affirm also. I wonder if that is too strong, but I would like to relax bone straight.

If it's your first time self relaxing, practice with conditioner first. Also may you should consider relaxing once section, neutralize, condition, and then do the same for the other section.

I self relaxed one time, and my hair came out very underprocessed because I didnt make the parts small enough and I did not use enough relaxer. Sectioning off your hair by using clips, will give you more time because you wont have to worry about parting the hair.

How far are you already into your transition? I too was planning on relaxing in April also but most likely I'll be transitioning to natural rather then relaxing. If your unsure then maybe you shouldn't do it. I would also have a stylist do it or practice several times w/ conditioner if u do decide to relax.
I've heard great things about Mizani Butter Blend and if I end up relaxing I'll be trying that. What kind of tips are you specifically looking for?

I'm 2 years into my transition. I am looking for tips that would inform me about something I would never think of like some not making their parts small enough, just small details that make a big difference.

These are some great tips!
Any more advice!
